Weird Google Calendar bug

I don't know if anyone else sees this, but when I load Google Calendar, I have a weird text entry at the top of the month/week/day views that I can't get rid of and that doesn't do anything. Well, it doesn't do anything except block important information, making the month view almost unusable... Does anyone else get this?

Since I’m a reluctant dab hand at full system recovery now (see http://android.modaco.com/content/advent-v...ter-r6-update/) I tried some tests.

Full system recovery (back to clean standard ROM) = no orange bar on calendar.

Then installed R6 ROM = orange bar

Full system recovery again = no orange bar on calendar. Then installed R5 ROM = orange bar

Then installed R6 ROM on top of R5 = orange bar still there.

In my searches, I have seen reference to this orange bar in other Android devices so it’s certainly not unique to the Vega or the Modaco custom “ROMS”, but it does look like using these custom “ROMS” causes the orange bar.

I also found “Android 2.2 Stock Calendar” in the Market and installed that, made no difference.

Hopefully this bug will be fixed soon.

I have the same problem in the stock calendar but "Business Calendar Beta" (free from the market) works just fine.

The Orange bar is normal for Google Calendar it signifies a google account calendar event.

if you had also an exchange account setup with your work place and sync'd the calendar you would get a blue bar signifing a Work related calendar event.

This is on 99.9% of Google/Android phones (inc mine :unsure:)

I don't think its a google calendar event as the bar looks much more like text entry box than a calendar event. It covers the day/date in week view, making the calendar unusable so i don't think that it is supoosed to be there. I dont use google calendar, just my exchange/work calendar, and the events aren't that colour. Also it isnt in the calendar on my desire which syncs with the same calendar - just the vega.

Anyway, not a huge issue for me as i have a calendar app that works fine.

Yeah personally I use Jorte on my Desire for the calendar (freeware), hopefully works on the Vega (when it arrives :unsure:)..

I'm using Touch Calendar Beta - seems to be pretty good on the VEGA.
