Well have installed custom roms numerous times never with this problem.When i hold the volume button down the android icon loads and then screen says FTM instead of the android icon and phone not being recognized by computer.Help please

Its a brand new mobile if that is any different with stock orange rom

down is if you have already put clockwork on i think , try 'up' to get it ready for fastboot so it sticks at green man ?

You haven't installed clockwork, put into fastboot with power on and vol +, flash clockwork and then vol - will work. There is no true shortcut to start recovery so we hijacked the vol - sequence which is used for FTM mode (which is really a strange version of recovery).
