HTC Legend Modification

Hi there, I am new to this as I have just recently bought a HTC legend. I know that 2.2 is coming, but at the same time, I was wondering if I could actually modify my HTC legend to use the faster Snapdragon processor of the Desire and whether I could increase the memory from 376 to 512? I did not get the desire because I really wanted the size of the legend and the look.

Any help here would be appreciated.
