Guest Ashenfall Posted December 3, 2010 Report Posted December 3, 2010 Wonder how this differs from the other hack I flashed to my phone (audio_boost.zip) - got from here somewhere.
Guest factro Posted December 3, 2010 Report Posted December 3, 2010 Wonder how this differs from the other hack I flashed to my phone (audio_boost.zip) - got from here somewhere. its simple..just install apk file and choice v2 and push headphone boost and push thats it..no need of flashing , may be reboot needed..;)
Guest Ashenfall Posted December 3, 2010 Report Posted December 3, 2010 its simple..just install apk file and choice v2 and push headphone boost and push thats it..no need of flashing , may be reboot needed..:PAh, I mean. which gives the better sound ;) I was happy with the 'audio_boost.zip' I used but if this does as good a job then it's a better option for others as easier to install.
Guest factro Posted December 3, 2010 Report Posted December 3, 2010 Ah, I mean. which gives the better sound ;) I was happy with the 'audio_boost.zip' I used but if this does as good a job then it's a better option for others as easier to install. i think both give similar result only different is easy or hard..
Guest css771 Posted December 4, 2010 Report Posted December 4, 2010 Confirmed working ;) great little utility. There was a zip on xda just for this. But this is much more convenient. Flashed V2 and both speaker and headphone volume has increased. However there's very slight static on the headphones when the screen's off and nothing's playing.
Guest dwl99 Posted December 4, 2010 Report Posted December 4, 2010 Looks very similar to Louder Volume Hack http://www.appbrain.com/app/louder-volume-...3-6/com.AutoMod - I tried it & found it made absolutely no difference. Will give this new one a go.
Guest nick_sub Posted December 4, 2010 Report Posted December 4, 2010 This is indeed Meltus's Louder Volume Hack. Strangely the intro screen says v1.2, the title says v1.1 and the help says v1.0! Testing now....
Guest nick_sub Posted December 4, 2010 Report Posted December 4, 2010 I installed the V2 and then the headset boost and I can't really hear any difference on my bog standard headphones. However, the pre-amp in PowerAmp does a pretty good boost with not too much distortion. Volume on my noise-isolation headphones is absolutely fine anyway, I would just have liked more when I use it in the car so I don't have to turn my car stereo up so much.

Guest nick_sub Posted December 5, 2010 Report Posted December 5, 2010 I forgot to say I'm using MCR r4 and had already installed Fibble's audio update zip (which didn't seem to make any difference either).
Guest Mike_P Posted December 5, 2010 Report Posted December 5, 2010 Hmm the V1 + V3 options are 'not available' and even when you push the stock/V2/headset boost it doesn't restart the media server so the changes won't take anyway unless I'm missing something this app doesn't appear to do anything.
Guest The Soup Thief Posted December 5, 2010 Report Posted December 5, 2010 I forgot to say I'm using MCR r4 and had already installed Fibble's audio update zip (which didn't seem to make any difference either). Same here - tried Flibblesan's trick on the FLB froyo - didn't seem to do anything Nor did this ;)

Guest factro Posted December 5, 2010 Report Posted December 5, 2010 (edited) works on froyo too? i am using it and i think it works..but idk if its me or it works for everyone, i am using froyo 2.2 beta.. but if it does nt work then you can try audioboost from flibblesan and i am sure this work too.. audio boost 8.25K cheers Edited December 5, 2010 by factro
Guest factro Posted December 5, 2010 Report Posted December 5, 2010 Same here - tried Flibblesan's trick on the FLB froyo - didn't seem to do anything Nor did this ;) u can use other trick too, copy 3 files from /system/etc of audioboost.zip and then use Es file explore and overwrite ur files manually in blade with root and reboot it..

I agree, same for me, useless.
Guest Lollingsgrad Posted December 6, 2010 Report Posted December 6, 2010 I agree, same for me, useless. I got nothing out of this fix. Decided to using MixZing music player instead for the equaliser gain controls. This worked, but then I decided to just get some comfortable silicon tipped in-ear headphones. You know, one of those ones that are equal parts earplug and music injector. This makes it as loud as I would want it; simple solutions! MixZing also, incidentally, solved another problem; music skipping. It has an option to leave the equaliser active at all times, specifically as a fix for phones with music skipping problems. It's not perfect, but it does smooth the issue dramatically.
Guest admanirv Posted December 6, 2010 Report Posted December 6, 2010 Funny, you should say that i tried mixzing jsut after i wrote that post. It works (a little to increase volume) but jacking it up too much introduces distortion. What headphones did you get??? I have some JVC mashmallow but they didn't make much of a difference from the stock ones, volume wise. http://reviews.cnet.co.uk/headphones/jvc-m...eview-49303601/ Cheers

I got the Sony MDR-086 which improved the volume insofar as it stops you from hearing anything else. Good luck finding them though, they were released with a bunch of their MP3 players and I can't find them on their own. In all honesty, I Googled those JVC Marshmallows and they should really be performing as well simply because they would act as earplugs too. If you wanted to try different headphones though, I can recommend either the Creative EP-630, the Sennheiser CX300, or the Sennheiser CX500. Beware of people selling fakes, there's loads of them around.
Guest tiggerlator Posted December 6, 2010 Report Posted December 6, 2010 I got my cx300-ii from amazon, and they are definatley not fakes. They sound lovely using my cowon d2 player.
