Guest Harash! Posted December 3, 2010 Report Posted December 3, 2010 I decided to disassemble my Pulse to clean it from dust, so I took some photos on the way there... It was pretty easy to disassemble it (It's not if you don't have the right screwdriver) and more importantly to reassemble it back.
Guest WallOfSound Posted December 3, 2010 Report Posted December 3, 2010 What screw driver did you use?
Guest Harash! Posted December 3, 2010 Report Posted December 3, 2010 I used these: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.29544 (2.0 Cross screw driver and T5 screw driver)
Guest iKrautDroid Posted December 5, 2010 Report Posted December 5, 2010 I used these: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.29544 (2.0 Cross screw driver and T5 screw driver) I feel kinda dumb asking this but does that pulse still work?
Guest Harash! Posted December 5, 2010 Report Posted December 5, 2010 I feel kinda dumb asking this but does that pulse still work? Yes, it works without a single flaw. Pulse was designed and made in a pretty simple way (like most cheaper and/or chinese phones) and that makes it really easy to disassemble and even easier to assemble back, without almost any risks of braking something (unlike some more expensive Sony Ericssons and Nokias, its pretty much impossible to dis/reassemble them without braking something).
Guest il_cholo Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 did you find the ram module? could you take a picture? how many chips has and which amount of ram? regards.
Guest Harash! Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 Unfortunately no, all chips are under these metal shields that are soldered to the main board, I would probably have to ruin my phone to find out what you are looking for, and I can't because it still works quite fine ;)
Guest mikeb90 Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 ehmmmm i' m curious person and i' disassembled and assembled back some cellphones and a laptop....if i' m not wrong the metal shields which protect the chips consist into two parts: the first one solderes to the board and the second one it' locked togheter with the first one..... you just need to use a scrwdriver to force it.... IF I' M NOT WRONG XD

Guest mikeb90 Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 When i took mine apart the shields where soldered directly to the board mmm ok sorry for having been "arrogant" u.u
Guest craigb244 Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 mmm ok sorry for having been "arrogant" u.u no need for sorry. I was like ;) when i seen them soldered on
Guest il_cholo Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 really nice pics, I haven't seen this before on our device.
Guest Iccarus Posted December 8, 2010 Report Posted December 8, 2010 (edited) Nice stuff, Shame about the EMC/RF shielding indeed. Would have been nice to see if we could possibly upgrade the ram chip with a pin compatible one and solder on some more ram (and completely void all warranty heheh). A bit of wishful thinking, perhaps since they are probably all bga chips anyway... Edited December 8, 2010 by Iccarus
Guest pbacev Posted September 4, 2012 Report Posted September 4, 2012 Can someone please point to the phone antenna in the pictures above?
