vega recalled?

just been into a currys/pcworld megastore and asked about the vega and was told it has been recalled but he didnt know why. To be honest i didnt believe him knowing what the staff there are like but now the image has gone from the pc world site and it says this item is not available.

My initial reaction to this was the guy in store must have confused the vega with the folio, but I agree that the changes to PCW website are a little odd

Don't think they have a clue. I think they probably are thinking about the Toshiba Folio, which was recalled.

If it was recalled I would assume they would have emailed all of us that bought one by now. And I can't say I have heard of any reason for it to have been recalled unless the batteries are exploding or something.

Hi Guys,

Really don't think the Vega has been recalled. Must be some confusion with the Folio which I guess is understandable as the stores are yet to recieve allocation of the Vega so staff will have had little heads up and know as much as is on here ;)

Its still on the site - just unavailable as with all out of stock products as the DSG sites do not allow forward ordering...

Apart from anything else, @AdventVega still tweeting of stock updates and if there was a recall this would not be happening.

No reson for a recall anyway - just more stock required!

i doubt they would release a case and then recal it the same day.the guys on twitter seem to know what theyre on about,ive msgd them and asked anyway,will post when i get a reply.hope it dont have to go,im loving my vega,cant wait to get some different roms on it, my name is simon and im a flash addict

yeah i presumed he didnt know what he was on about i was just abit concerned about the changes on the site, but the currys site is still the same as before. hope they get some in stock soon!

I spoke to the hardware guys just before they left for the day and there was no mention of a recall. I am very certain this is the case and stores have not been instructed to inform customers to this affect. More stock should have arrived yesterday afternoon but it will probably not show until the morning. Should be hundreds from what I was told.
