Putting gapps/market on POV Mobii (vega clone)?

I'm trying to get the market to work on my POV Mobii 10 which seems about identical to the vega, therefor posting this in this thread.

I'm not daring to flash Paul's rom just yet without knowing how much I could break things, so I'm trying to figure out an alternative way of installing. I started with copying the app folder (containing the vending.apk) to my Mobii but I don't have enough space. Is there any clue about what the bare minimum which is needed to get the market running? I also copied just the vending.apk but after starting the market it just closes immediately (I do see the market outlines popping up, permissions are set properly and reboot was done).

Or any other hints about what direction to aim for?

ps. Would the advent vega update give a message if I try to apply it to a different device? I'm almost tempted to try the full sofftware update from http://www.myadventvega.co.uk/ ;)

Got my POV 10 Tegra in today..... I am trying some market replacements but rather have the real deal...

Please let me know if you tried the full software update and if it helps...

Yep 100% identical hardware. Go ahead and put the vega rom update on it . And follow it up with pauls rom + performance pack. I did the same on my POV and the difference huge.

Indeed seems 100% the same. Flashed it with the vega 1.04 rom as well and pauls r4 and works just fine. Getting some fc errors on some apps but could be the performance pack addon too. Perhaps it would also be the case with the pov software but just haven't used that long enough to be sure.

Did read about pov working on some new sw version so who knows what that will bring and through the sw app on the pov you can reach a site with some maarket update. Might wanna give that a try as well :)

Hi Guys, so the POV works with Paul's ROMs and updates right?

I've just been looking at Expansys and according to their site the USB is a host - can any of you confirm that for me? I would like to be ablel to plug in external hard drive/usb stick/usb keyboard etc. If you can confirm it works and are not having problems with Paul's ROM's etc I might just get one from them.

If the POV device has USB host support it will lose it when flashed with the vega's rom. However, we (Paul and I at least) would love to look at a rom dump of a device that currently has USB host mode enabled.

According to POV it does have 1 x USB 2.0 host:

If you can get a ROM dump and the hardware looks the same, does it mean that there might be a fix for the Vega?

Any specific instructions for the ROM dump...

I'm quite used to android and ROM flashing using clockworkmod recovery on my HTC Desire, so I'm not a total noob...

However, I have no clue how to dump a ROM...

Would love to help tho :)

Yeah anything running the Advent rom won't do USB host, we're wondering about the stock POV rom, even without the source there may be some mash-up potential.

Where do you buy the POV Mobii Tegra? How are the viewing angles of screen? Is it the same as Vega? Got it a built-in 3G and Bluetooth dongles?

That's about £50 more expensive than the Vega. I'm also curious to know whether that means it's got some extra features, like a better screen.
