I am hoping to get a SF from one of my local Orange shops today and was going to ask them if the phone they have in stock has the TFT or OLED screen.

Is there a way of telling what screen the phone has got from the retail box? or phone version?

Also when did TFT come out as I could ask them how long have they had their stock in the shop as I might get an OLED screen from a shop that’s had the same stock in for a few weeks.

Any help appreciated!

;)

I don't know about stock but you can tell if its OLED by looking at the black if its really black then its OLED if its got a blueish look or it looks back lit then its TFT use no led app free from the market put it it test mode you will get a black screen with little flashing lights red green, yellow ect. this will help you see the type of screen you have hope this helps

I was told by telesales yesterday that the description on the Oranger internal systems has been changed to read 'San Francisco TFT' so it would 'appear' that all the OLEDs has sold through.

If it was any other phone I'd say there was a chance that some of the store might have old stock, but the way the SF sells that's a bit of long shot.

You could ask them when they had their stock in, if it was late this week the odds are their going be TFT (but you never know).

As they've change the description I'd think you'd have no chance of talking it back if it didn't have an OLED?

Try this link: e2save Orange San Francisco with AMOLED

The website description states that the Orange San Francisco on sale has AMOLED. So I assume it's old stock.

My local Orange store is advertising it as TFT now. I bought one and it was OLED? So i took it back and got a refund...false advertising.
