Just taken the plunge - HELP!!

Hi all,

Yesterday I bit the bullet and bought myself a new grey SF from Orange (obviously) after being an Apple user for a few years. In all honesty the main reason for buying it was due to this site, it seems there are plenty of clued-up people on here.

I have just followed the guide to get rid of all the Orange bits here and have also used this guide to unlock it for free!

Now my problem is that when I put my O2 sim in (a micro-sim in an adapter) the phone keeps restarting and I get no service for the very short time it is on. I have done a quick search to see if a similar problem had been posted but to no avail ;) Could anyone suggest what to do?

P.S. My screen is OLED so they are still available and I was given the choice to have a white one.

Does it work if you put the original Orange SIM back in ?

I'd say you deleted a file that's needed.

Simplest option is flash a clean rom to the phone

It is easy enough to do, I knew nothing about Android at all when I got mine, but 4 hours after buying it I had a new rom in it by following the instructions posted in here

Test it though, put the original sim back in, if it boots and works fine its not that

if it doesnt work properly then if it was me I'd flash a new rom

It does work with the original sim and I have also flashed the rom with a fresh one.

It also seems to work with a regular sized vodafone sim.

That suggests it's the adapter. Can't you get a normal sized SIM from your provider?
