Android AOSP Dailer on Eclair 2.1 -possible?

Anyone know if it is possible (and possibly how) to get the standard Android Dailer on Eclair 2.1? All the 2.1 roms on here have the ZTE smartdialer. I saw one rom, from flibblesan that uses the standard dialer, but that was on Froyo 2.2

I've been googling a lot to try and get an answer and from what i've learnt it is not just a matter of installing an apk. There are a lot of 'specialised' dialers on the market but nothing like what i'm looking for. Dialer One is the only one that seems to be an actual one-for-one replacement to the 'standard' one. I need one with bigger keys (not interested in looking through my contacts or any fancy predictive stuff).

The Android one also seems to have a record function in-built which i find interesting.

If anyone can point me in the right direction I would appreciate the feedback.
