changing lock screen

a lot of people have asked how to change the lock screen on roms. ive used the mcr 2.2 rom and i dont really like that lock screen. i was just wondering how can you change that back to the original one, the one in 2.1.

any help would be appreciated

download and use widget locker, thats what im doing and you even get to use the sense ui lockscreen ;)

i had that but i found it too much of a clutter and for some reason it kept force closing on me, i was looking for more of a complte replacement by going in the rom and swapping it.

I've had a look at this myself and it's a huge amount of work by the looks of it. We would need a modified android.policy.jar as this contains a lot of lockscreen data and i've not got a clue where to start with all the smali code...

well it seems to me that a lot of people dont really like the lockscreen so maybe paul will release his froyo rom with the original, i hope he does. fingers crossed

btw what if we got the android.policy.jar from another rom with the original lockscreen and added it to pauls rom, repack it and see how it goes. does that sound possible?

That's obviously the first thing i tried. It works but all the text etc is messed up as it's been changed a lot for this build.

hopefully this is possible in pauls custom rom. This is preventing me from swapping from flibblesans 2.2 to the modaco froyo. Flibblesans froyo rom has the stock 2.2 lockscreen, but I don't know if he added that in or if it was like that fresh from ZTE.
