Guest oh!dougal Posted December 4, 2010 Report Posted December 4, 2010 That's the way mine works. Don't know whether it can be changed in software, or whether its an Android or SF hardware limitation.
Guest Freekers Posted December 4, 2010 Report Posted December 4, 2010 Same behaviour here... Would love to see that changed. Now people on the bus always turn their heads when my phone rings while I'm listening music.

Guest oh!dougal Posted December 4, 2010 Report Posted December 4, 2010 And even with a Bluetooth headset, its a bit, well ... lame. It only rings at the phone. You cannot even answer by pressing the headset button. You have to answer by pressing the appropriate on-screen button, and +then+ the audio gets routed to the headset ... But you can then hang up by pressing the headset button. Frankly, for a +phone+ this is lame behaviour. Its kinda tolerable for a pocket internet tablet, but the report has to be "Could do better". I believe FroYo is supposed to make things better for Bluetooth. Here's hoping!

Guest trishmac Posted February 10, 2011 Report Posted February 10, 2011 on the subject of ringtones..when i apply a track from my music as my phone ringtone. . it never stays! When a few hours go by before I get a call..it goes back to the default ringtone. seems strange :P
Guest IronDoc Posted February 10, 2011 Report Posted February 10, 2011 (edited) Can everyone who's posted state the ROM they're using please? I've been trying to work this stuff out. The responsible file is /system/lib/libaudiopolicy.so The one in Japanese Jelly routes only through headphones. This includes alarms The one in FLB routes only through speaker (I think, though it may route through headphones in addition). Edited February 10, 2011 by IronDoc
Guest Alexander_13 Posted February 17, 2011 Report Posted February 17, 2011 Hi I have the same two problems: no ringtone in earphones, and ringtone that does not stay. I have stock ROMand think about using custom ROM (which one?) - but will it solve my problems? Additionally, my problem is that the phone refuses to delete files from the card. It shows message error deleting system file, while the file is a simple picture or music track (but deletion via USB works ok)
Guest oh!dougal Posted February 18, 2011 Report Posted February 18, 2011 (edited) ... The responsible file is /system/lib/libaudiopolicy.so The one in Japanese Jelly routes only through headphones. This includes alarms The one in FLB routes only through speaker (I think, though it may route through headphones in addition). Noted from the JJ thread that swapping this file ONLY may not be a safe operation. http://android.modaco.com/index.php?s=&...t&p=1597253 From a thread elsewhere about a different phone, I have the impression that the three files libaudio.so, libaudiopolicy.so and libaudiointerface.so work together, and that swapping/replacing all three might be better than just swapping one. They were dealing with a permanent speakerphone issue ... http://www.simply-android.com/discussion/5...tch-released/p1 And I noted that (again on a different phone) someone had edited the AOSP libaudiopolicy.so file to increase headphone volume ... which got me thinking that (for 2.2 roms anyway) perhaps pinching those 3 files from CM6 (and maybe even editing THEM) might be an interesting route to explore. libaudiopolicy AOSP source code http://android.git.kernel.org/?p=platform/...2c594379b136a01 This definitely looks like an area SOMEONE ought to be exploring! Guest stedk Posted March 22, 2011 Report Posted March 22, 2011 Hi. Just installed Froyo r10b and noticed that ring tones and other notifications are not routed through my headphones. Did anybody find a workaround for this ? Having both (speaker and headset) ring would be fine too... Ciao.

Guest ronc2000 Posted March 23, 2011 Report Posted March 23, 2011 I do not think different rom is the issue. The issue has to be the headset (or headphone) used. If you are using the supplied headset, you should hear the phone ring from your headset and answer with the press of the answer button on the headset. If you are using just a stereo headset (no mic), you definitely cannot hear the phone ring from the headset. If you want to use you own headphone and want to hear phone ring from you headphone, get this adapter: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...=STRK:MESELX:IT

Nope - I'm on stock rom, straight out of the box but just unlocked and some Orange stuff removed, and I'm using the headset that came with it, but the ring only comes from the phone speaker, not the headset. Ring volume is also very low - OK in a quiet room but no chance of hearing it in a busy pub or on the street. I've got to rely on feeling it vibrate in my pocket :D Bit poor for a device that is primarily a phone.
