San Francisco on Vodafone

Has anyone managed to get messaging working properly on the San Francisco on Vodafone?

I can receive messages no problem, but everyone I try and send just comes back as not sent?

I've got the correct message centre number in there, but can't work it out.

Shop has said I need a new SIM card which they've ordered but I'm sceptical.

3G ...etc is fine.

well my vodafone sim is over 15 years old & it works for everything... 3G, SMS, MMS etc.

Is it text messages you have issues with or MMS?

Text and SMS, I can receive both, but not send any, just asks me to click it and try and resend.

completely baffled, went into the Vodafone shop today but to be honest they wouldn't know what a phone was if you smacked it across their head.....useless.

I've got an APN setup as wap.vodafone.co.uk (build into Modaco ROM).

got in to messages, select settings (press Menu key first), select 'Service Center' & the number should be: +44385016005

Hmmm, my number is +447785016005 as per the vodafone website. (this was automatically inputted by the phone).

The number you have quoted seems too short?

I can't think what else it could be, other than some sort of account issue not allowing me to send?

thats for MMS. It sounds like its standard SMS issue.

Text and SMS, I can receive both, but not send any.

But then again I could be wrong.

I've now got the new sim card but the issue remains! .....arghhhhhhh!!!

This is an Xmas present for my daughter, do you know how much use a phone will be that she can't text from? I might as well leave now!

Strangely, the latest ROM I've flashed UNI_CN_V880 1.0 (MCR Alpha4) doesn't have the setting in messages to enter the service centre? It just doesn't exist!?!?!?!?

confused :)

EDIT: right I flashed a new rom (2.1 update1, Modaco custim ROM OUK_P729BV1.0.0B05) and I have the service centre option back ;)

Anyway i tried the number above +44385016005 but no joy, just comes back as not sent.

calls and Data are fine....
