Getting back all the pre-installed wallpapers.

I know its daft, but i really like a lot of the wallpapers that came pre-installed with the Orange ROM. However, ever since installing Villains 1.0.1 ROM I've lost the additional 'Wallpaper' (one at the bottom) of the 'Select Wallpaper From' option screen.

I've only got the 'Wallpaper Gallery' option which only give 2 wallpapers - colourful dots & black!!

I made a Titanium backup of the phone - is there a way of restoring these wallpapers again.

hhmm, over 60 views & no replies!!

ok. Another question. If i have some jpgs i want as wallpaper can i copy them to the system memory so they show up in the Wallpaper Gallery folder. I've tried to find this folder using Root Explorer but its doesnt seem to be anywhere.

I know i can put them on the sdcard but i would like them in the system directory.

Cheers.

This is my findings in the past.

The default wallpaper that appears on first boot is in the framework-res.apk. The rest of the wallpapers are in the launcher that you are using.

I'm guessing that the villainrom is using launcherpro and had removed the default launcher which contained the wallpapers you are talking about (this is the same way I have my rom set up) or if the default launcher is still there switch back to it and see if the wallpaper is there then.

There really is no need for all this tho.. keeping the wallpaper on the SD card is probably the best way for you.

Any particular reason you want it in system I'm missing ?

I sometimes switch sdcards over so i want to keep my wallpaper on the phone & not on the card.

thanks for that but it wont let me install it.

I usually use the app 'Filer' select the apk & install it. However, its failed to install after a few seconds.

Anyone know why?

yes it wont let u install launcherpro until and unless u dont use other luncher. So download other luncher like ADW or openhome and make it default. Then uninstall old launcherpro and install new one..;)

cheers..

nah, doesnt work.

I'm only using Zeam launcher & Launcher2 still doesnt want to install. 'Application not installed'

Plus I'm pretty sure Launcher2 & Launcher Pro arent different apps & can be installed together.

I have searched a bit and apparantly you can't get Launcher2.apk installed via Filer after you've flashed the ROM.

Thus to get Launcher2.apk back I guess you either need to flash Launcher2.apk trough ClockWork using a .zip file or flash a different ROM with Launcher2.apk included... at least that's what I understand from all of it.

Also, here's just a thought of mine, what you also could try is download Root Explorer and try installing Launcher2.apk via Root Explorer. Don't forget to push the 'Mount R/O' button in Root Explorer !

Sorry for giving you false information. I really thought you could just install Launcher2.apk from Filer without issues, but apparantly I was wrong. I didn't test it, as I already have Launcher2.apk installed.

Are you saying that it wont install using Root Explorer?

Or it installs but disappears when the phone reboots?

Cheers.
