Wireless Tether is it possible?

OK so I thought I would give Wireless Tethering a try with my San Francisco.

I downloaded "Android WiFi Tether" from here:

http://code.google.com/p/android-wifi-tether/

There are only two requirements which are:

- Device must be Rooted (mine is)

- A custom-kernel which supports netfilter (iptables)

What does the second requirement mean? and is it possible to get Sebastian404's R6 rom working with it?

Thanks in Advance ;)

My device is Rooted but coming up with "su: Access Denied" guess I will need to try and re-root the phone first.
