ok folks you all probably know what ive been working on for the last few days.

i now am proud to release the first ALPHA level build of my MIUI port for Dell Streak.

their is alot of unfinished areas in this build but it is stable and seems to work fine for browsing etc

Known Issues:

Screen is locked in upside down portrait for moment until i work out how the f* dell have done the rotation.

Music Playback DOES NOT work

Headphones Are not registered normally

Camera is borked for now (non critical issue at moment)

i think thats all of them

Whats Working:

Touch

3D/2D GFX

Phone/mobile data

WiFi

Bluetooth

Screen Brightness

Usb/charging

so all in all quite alot is sorted and working fine now.

installation:

a FACTORY RESET IS REQUIRED !! or you will have force closes if it even boots

EDIT: if you get error 4 with the above link please try http://downloads.streakdroid.com/djsteve/StreaksMI.ip and rename it sto .zip then try flashing - seems some devices will flash one and some the other

flash using clockwork recovery as per my normal roms, i doubt it will flash in mistadmans recovery

required the baseband from streakdroid 1.2+

Nice one Steve, this is one really nice rom, along with the themes available it will be a really nice edition to anyonesh now expanding dell streak rom collection ;)

Just have to get dell to release source for 2.2 so we can have cm6, then my life will be complete :P

1st attempt: Coming from 1.4.6

Factory Reset from Stock Recovery, then factory reset from clockwork

Tried flashing MiUI ROM and got error 4, Installation aborted. Redownloading just in case.

Fast and stable rom.

the phone works very well.

The Internet works.

The problem with Swype constantly crashes and shuts down the application.

It is a pity that the display screen is upside down ......

Very good job waiting for the next!

I also had hte status 4 from clockwork on the first try - re-downloaded and copied to SD card. Worked fine the second time.

Once i turned swype off (known issue) it worked great.

I like the style and layout - be great to see this working landscape (im sure you'll crack it)

P.S. Flashing back to 1.4.6 and then factory resetting put me back to where i started no problems

You can totally de-iPhone it with these themes and theres always ADW.Launcher which works a treak with it ;)

Looks good so far... here's some findings...

Market is missing some apps.

Universal androot can't find exploit =no root (z4root not in market... hence #1 finding)

Music is definitely borked...no matter what I use.

Gallery seems to load slower and can't seem to load all pics of you got alot.

Had trouble getting rid of swype fc but only needed to change input options via keyboard and not settings.

EDIT:

Rockplayer works (seems zoomed in but quality is still good)

LauncherPro Pro installed and works fine...has large icons too (Awesome)

After putting the screen in sleep mode, the 3 lights remain lit. Testing now to see whether it shutsoff at some point or not.

As in the first post u will need a factory restore to install the miui . However u will be able to install 1.4.6 over it

Unable to switch themes - requires reboot and you just end up back with the default. Also, reboot resets swype as the main keyboard. It seems to maintain other settings - or rather, I've not noticed other things changing after a reboot.

Agreed, issues so far:

3 lights not shutting off

music not playing

WIFI won't get an IP address

Themes do not apply on reboot

Wallpapers don't change

NO SOUND AT ALL FROM CALL/SMS or ALARMS!

dailer displays number in eastern format xxx-xxx-xxxxx

Rotation doesn't work at all

GPS doesn't show as on when in maps (is it working?)

And, where's the option to switch GPS on ? ;)

Edit: found it in the notification bar (doesn't register as on when in maps)

However, I'm really liking the change to be honest.

Above is just a list of what I've found not working, not a criticism, if we all play and post we should capture everything.

Good job Steve, makes my phone even lusher.
