Guest Sandy mk1 Posted December 5, 2010 Report Posted December 5, 2010 I signed up for access to bake ROMs, but for some reason no mater what I bake and copy to my SF when I image with Clockwork and reboot it just boot loops to the Modaco splash. Constantly, no mater the ROM? What have I done wrong?

You're now completely unclear.
Guest Sandy mk1 Posted December 6, 2010 Report Posted December 6, 2010 Well basically its any baked 2.1 rom, all I want is a ROM with A2SD, so its any ROMs that include that as an option. If I download the basic ROM its fine, if I bake a ROM it doesn't work. ;)

Maybe your SD-card is not functional.
Guest Sandy mk1 Posted December 6, 2010 Report Posted December 6, 2010 I've tried Bladevillain, but it was just too slow and was taking ages to get it looking the way I wanted. so went to R4. SD card is fine. Now trying French Fries, but that comes with A2SD pre-baked.... I've paid for the option to bake my own ROMS, so I'd like to know what I'm doing wrong so that I can use this handy feature of the site.

Have you correctly partitioned your SD card with EXT2 to support A2SD?

Then there must be something wrong with your phone. BladeVillain is much faster and responsive than Modaco R4. But again, give information. You still haven't said whether you have a OLED or TFT Blade, to give an example.

I have an OLED Blade, the problem I was having was trying to get apps to install from market... just got fed up as I wanted R4, so why install something else?

Well I've gone with French Fries, and i'm happy with it, partitioned up an EXT3 partition as it describes. But how do I check that the partition is working correctly, and that apps are being installed there? I used the Sence clock with its handy little storage readout, which suggests 116mb of internal ROM is still available, and its got a heap of stuff installed so I'm guessing its going to the EXT3 partition? But are their any apps that let me check how much of this volume is free?
Guest gambieter Posted December 6, 2010 Report Posted December 6, 2010 Quick Systems Info from the Market.
Guest Gerson2k Posted December 6, 2010 Report Posted December 6, 2010 Do you know which version of cockworkmod you have installed, if its the older then I'd try the newer version and then flash.

Ah good point, I'll check which version I've got installed. ;) Quite enjoying french fries though, seems nice and stable and quick enough for me.
Guest Frankish Posted December 6, 2010 Report Posted December 6, 2010 On the flip side i'd say if you have a newer clockwork flash the older one...
Guest Sandy mk1 Posted December 6, 2010 Report Posted December 6, 2010 On the flip side i'd say if you have a newer clockwork flash the older one... Just flashed the newer 2.5.1.3 clockwork mod.... Now on installing a ROM it goes through the deleting files stage and fails with Formatting BOOT:.... E.Board does not support mtd util.E:Failure at line 422: Write_raw_image PACKAGE:boot.img BOOT: Installation Aborted Ive got 3 backups through clockwork and they restore ok, but that leaves me with standard Orange, modded orange and a French Fries... none of which I want. I want R4-baked... lol
Guest Sandy mk1 Posted December 6, 2010 Report Posted December 6, 2010 Just baked another app with R4, exactly the same... just crashed out when installing.

Guest Sandy mk1 Posted December 6, 2010 Report Posted December 6, 2010 I always delete data and cache before loading a new ROM... As do I, but its not helping.
Guest oh!dougal Posted December 6, 2010 Report Posted December 6, 2010 Just flashed the newer 2.5.1.3 clockwork mod.... ... Mistake! Use the older one 2.5.0.9 ... it works! (Just don't use it to format or partition sdcards.) Seems like 2513 has lots of problems ...

Guest Sandy mk1 Posted December 6, 2010 Report Posted December 6, 2010 I was on 2.5.0.9 and ROMS didnt work right then either... gah! Gone back to 2.5.0.9 and ROMs are installing in Clockwork Recovery, as before. But when booting, I get the Green Android, then the Modaco logo, sits for a while, then Modaco logo re-loads... and this goes on forever. :-( Stuck on a stock 2.2 ROM and it installed fine. So is there a problem with baking just now?
