Guest maozhua Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 My phone is always showing “no sim card" in the screen, I have unlocked it, but I unlocked it in the flight mode , and I have tried more than ten cards, only one sim card can have a signal, and it often can't make calls. Because I'm now in China, so I can't use orange sim card. many thanks!
Guest Lew247 Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 what rom have you got in it? If its one of the early 2.2 roms, they show no network on the lock screen but the phone works properly. have you tried unlocking it and making a call?
Guest tatmin Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 (edited) what rom have you got in it? If its one of the early 2.2 roms, they show no network on the lock screen but the phone works properly. have you tried unlocking it and making a call? thx a lot!maozhua & Lew247 here is my problem,in detail. firstly(orgrial rom ,locked)i insert the sim card from "orange",it shows "no sim card". so i change my own sim card,it still shows "no sim card". i flash blade with r4 rom, nothing changed. then,i insert my wife's sim card.it looks like worked.i enter the unlocked number(in airplane mode),successful. sorry, i have to unlock blade,I'm now in China, can't use orange sim card. but,Unfortunately,i can't make calls(after i press "call",it freeze, and i can't hang up) except emergency call, and incoming call seems no problem. Next,i try to change the simcard from my friends, about ten pieces, every card give me a show"no sim card". the end,i flash blade with more roms,2.1&2.2,still the same. so i guess maybe the roms isn't the anwser.the only simcard that doesn't show "no sim card" can't make call.the others even can't be recognized. software error or hardware error?or there is a compatibility problem about sim card? can anyone give me a advice?thank u very much. Call orange, tell them you think you phone is IMEI blocked, they tend to impose Imei blocks on phones as a security measure on phones delivered. They imei blocked 8 of my phones! a quick call call and all.was sorted ,don't call there premium rate number, look for there number on WWW.saynoto0870.com they have a 0800 freephone number listed there, if in the UK call that number via a landline
Guest Just Wondering Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 PS just noticed your in China, if indeed it is a orange phone, use voip or similar to call them on a landline style number, if the phone provider was not Orange, then call the supplier and state the phone is IMEI blocked, they will lift the block
Guest kendon Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 i have a similar problem. phone loses connection to the sim randomly. sometimes it works for half a day, sometimes only for a minute. sometimes this can be solved by (multiple) reboots, sometimes by physically resinserting the sim. this happens to me on all roms (haven't tried foyo, but i don't expect a difference). i had to order a new sim in the first place, as the blade didn't like my old sim at all. i even tried taping the sim down in a position that worked. note workED.

Guest kendon Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 i didn't suspect the problem to be on the mechanical side, so i thought about doing this but didn't. now i thought, what the heck got nothing to lose, and did it. now waiting for the phone to lose the sim, will keep you posted.

Guest kendon Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 you might wanna try this. just take a needle and veeeeeeeeeeeeeeery gently bend the six pins of the sim holder a tiny tiny bit upwards. they are extremely fragile, i believe they would snap immediately if you bend them to far. you need to lift them only one millimeter or so. still no sign of dropping out here, quite long now. i can't believe i haven't tried this before, it's not like i hadn't thought about doing it...

Guest kuji Posted December 14, 2010 Report Posted December 14, 2010 I added 3 layers of a sticky label to the sim just to wedge it in there.. that stopped my problems..

When I first got my phone I was having this happen a fair bit - similar kind of frequency I did wonder if the sim contacts needed a bit of bending, but never did it I switched roms a bit and I've just realised that since installing FLB froyo and more recently mdc froyo r3 I've not had any recurrence of this problem So if I had to put money on it I'd say it was firmware rather than hardware, but I wouldn't swear to it
Guest Smiles Posted December 17, 2010 Report Posted December 17, 2010 Maybe it has to do with the use of a rebranded sim? As i use Ben NL which uses the t-mobile network. After i putted a t-mobile sim in my zte he now works much better whit the rebranded sim. Always phone connection but 3g is still falling and starting. will try the new rom as well.

After i putted a t-mobile sim in my zte he now works much better whit the rebranded sim. Always phone connection but 3g is still falling and starting. will try the new rom as well. I bought this phone about a week ago for my wife. She's not using it yet but I've had this "no sim card" problem from day one. Just as I rooted it, the phone re-booted itself and said "no sim". It was just sitting on my desk with the original Orange SIM in there so I assumed the rooting had done something to it. (It's not like it got dropped or physically bumped somehow) But later, after showing someone how switching SIMs didn't help, it started working again. Seemed to be because I didn't push the SIM in all the way - that would make it work. Worked fine for a week and then yesterday it's not working. Tried sticking tape to one side to force it down more but that didn't work. So I did my previous trick of not pushing it quite home and that got it working (with the tape still on). But this morning it's not working! Took it out, took the tape off it, put it back in all the way. Now it's working. This is with FLB 2.2 installed though when I had the first problem, it still had the original ROM. Can't see this being a usable phone until this is sorted but I've no idea how to fix it. SIM card holder seems really secure.
Guest DVDeus Posted September 8, 2011 Report Posted September 8, 2011 Hello! My friend's Blade has stopped using SIM card. It was unlocked successfully the time he got it, and now, after 3 months of usage, suddenly "Please insert SIM card" message has appeared. I've tried with another rom (originally SS4), but no luck. I have also tried with two other SIM cards, and with bonding the pins a little bit upper, but no luck. Any hint?
