Guest Surmoka Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 Many of us would like to have the possibility to awaken the phone from its sleep via some other than the power button. I've recently found that the integrated messenger program Nimbuzz does exactly this. As long as it is running and keep awake is enabled in its settings, the phone will not enter real "sleep" mode. The screen will go off and the buttons leds are also switched off, so you can't tell it's not sleeping but any button wakes it up.
Guest Flumpster Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 And your battery will be dead in 10 hours of no use.
Guest buneech Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 And your battery will be dead in 10 hours of no use. Yeah, what he said. You won't be able to tell the difference if it is sleeping or not (in the beginning) or if it is dead or not (in 10 hours).
Guest Surmoka Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 And your battery will be dead in 10 hours of no use. Wrong. Couldn't really tell the difference in battery life so far.
Guest Flumpster Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 Very odd why yours would behave different to everybody elses? Screen in proper sleep from 100 percent battery lost 7 percent over 9 hours. Screen not sleeping but turned off like you say had 10 percent drain per hour. Your only seeing 10 percent drain over 10 hours with the screen not sleeping ?
Guest targetbsp Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 Screen off but phone on, mine loses 30% battery overnight. In sleep mode it's about 3% overnight. There is a massive difference between sleep mode and not.
Guest Surmoka Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 Have you tried 'myLock'? I couldn't see how it would work and how that would help me. Maybe it's just me. Anyway, I've been only using this Nimbuzz for 2 days but if I switched wifi off for the night, it hardly lost any power until morning.
Guest oh!dougal Posted January 11, 2011 Report Posted January 11, 2011 I couldn't see how it would work and how that would help me. Maybe it's just me. Its yet another program that prevents the phone sleeping properly, and thus keeping the front buttons active.
