Guest Apnomis Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 For some reason I've been unable to add any Google Accounts to my phone for the last few days. There is nothing wrong with my connection as my webbrowser and apps work fine, but when I try to sign in to my other Gmail account I get an error message about lack of reliable data connection. This happens every time regardless of when I try and where I try from - I've tried it over 3G, 2G and Wi-Fi and get the same message every time? The thing is it doesn't even look like it's trying to connect judging by the lack of activity on the little data icon. Has anyone else come across this problem and does anyone know how to fix it? I have the default @googlemail.com account, plus I've also added the gmail.com equivalent, but I've also got another different Gmail account and this is the one I'm trying to add. I don't see why it wouldn't let me add multiple e-mail addresses?
Guest tuna fish Posted December 8, 2010 Report Posted December 8, 2010 Bump since I'm having the same problem, on Pauls 2.1 R4. Been wanting to add another account since the Google Reader app came out.
Guest cartierv Posted December 8, 2010 Report Posted December 8, 2010 This kind of thing seems to be a real problem. For me it because my SIM wasn't active (and still isn't over a week later grrr) and therefore no 3g, because wifi sign up doesn't work apparently. Others have suggested creating a new google account on a PC, or factory reset the phone. Orange are to blame, although ehat I find with Android is it's not quite there, it's like Mac OS X at around the kind of Jaguar or pre-Jaguar stage.
Guest Paul Posted December 8, 2010 Report Posted December 8, 2010 Go into the YouTube app, sign in with the account you want to add. A sneaky workaround. ;) P

Guest mickey megabyte Posted November 22, 2011 Report Posted November 22, 2011 i know it's an old thread, but i've just experienced this problem with a new replacement phone. my solution was to set the time correctly, as it came a few hours late out of the box.
