I know it's not the answer you're looking for, but I find the screen lock pattern to perform much better, look less naff and be generally better than this pendulum-magnifying-glass on 2.2. ;)

I love the new lockscreen, it works perfectly each and every time you use it

its simple and quick

If you never had a phone with the "old" lockscreen you'd have liked this one

Just get used to it.

It's shocking so I think I won't 'just get used to it' thanks.

It looks rubbish and it doesn't do its job well. If you don't hold your finger down long enough on the unlock bit it springs back and you have to wait for the animation to finish to try again.

I've replaced it with the stock lock screen, just need to sort out some graphical glitches. I'm sure paul is working on it as well tho.

Yeah, the lockscreen is pure ugly. I think I'll just use WidgetLocker or something until it's fixed properly.

To all the people moaning about the Chinese lock screen, which is pretty ugly, why can't you just use the built-in pattern lock or one of the lock screen apps?

Surely, any of these 'swipe to unlock' screens are too easy to accidently unlock in your pocket to be of any use anyway. ;)

Cheers

With all due respect, there's no need for any attitude, forums are here for people to express their likes/dislikes, otherwise there'd be a download button, and the topics would all be locked. :P

Never had a problem with any of the swipe to unlock screens unlocking in my pocket, and I've started using a lock app from the market, as I dislike the chinese one too, but I'd prefer to not have to.

You are right, the pattern lock screen is an alternative and will do for the moment but I find its too easy to get the pattern wrong. Also there isn't a button to mute the phone which isn't a massive deal as you can still hold the power button down.

There is no way you will unlock your phone in your pocket unless you have something that conducts electricity in there as well (like your hand). Capacitive screens only work with something that is conductive.

Just make the pattern left to right in the middle, just like the normal lockscreen ;)

(on a sidenote, my phone, if I forget to lock it will change songs, EQ, and what ever else it feels like, magic)

Ha, I actually tried that ;). Unfortunately you need to have a minimum of 4 points.
