Tesco Sim problem in Orange San Francisco

Has anyone else experienced the following problem when using a Tesco PAYG sim in an Orange San Francisco/ ZTE Blade?

The 'Time Setting' will not update Automatically, and If the time is set manually the clock loses 10 to 15 minutes a day.

With the original Orange Sim inserted there is no problem as the clock updates instantly and correctly in the 'Automatic' setting.

I have spoken with both Tesco Mobile and Orange customer support who have been unable to resolve the problem.

Any suggestions?

The automatic time is normally set by the local gsm mast, so my guess would be a problem with the local O2 mast. Unlikely you'll get O2 to fix that, worth reporting it to them though.

I'm on tescos and my clock is not on automatic and it hasn't lost any time yet.

I can understand a mast giving out the wrong time when it is on automatic setting but it shouldn't lose time when on manual.

What happens with the orange sim on manual ?

edit.. just to make sure, your not looking at a widget for the time by any chance are you? I've had my widgets say the wrong time because they have been killed by the system but the system clock at top right was always correct.

edit2.. just found this link, seems related. http://androidforums.com/sony-ericsson-xpe...osing-time.html

Interesting comment about the O2 mast. I'll follow that up, however: My neighbour has two of the San Francisco phones and is not experiencing the same 'time loss' problem. Although my phone loses time even in the manual mode (where I set the time) his ones do not.

Re widgets: I am looking at the main clock, and the alarm clock. the phone has been losing 17 odd minutes a day since the original post, and this is usually at night (very annoying when using the alarm to wake up and for diary appointments).

I suspect there is a problem with the phone, as it is also freezing up an awful lot...
