Heyy,

Is everyone who bought a san fran happy?

i was but now im not, after 2 replacements and Oranges Crappy CS i mightt be selling it.

I really dont want to but i dont know why i should keep it, As everyone i get the touchscreen just stops working after so long and i dont like typing. My Friend has a Desire and typing with the HTC IME doesnt feel the same.

I would be getting an Optimus if anything...

First things first. Are you using a custom rom?

Yeahh, I Use the FLB-Froyo-G2 ;)

Heh, well there you go.

You're blaming the screen freezes on the phone. You're using an Alpha version of an OS, so we kinda have to blame it on that.

Typing? So many keyboards out there. Swype, Swiftkey, Touchpal to name a few, give them all a try :P

Android is what you make it :P

Touch wood my screen has never frozen, are you using a different launcher? Does holding down home do anything?

I use LauncherPro ALWAYS, Holding home does nothing.

Confirmed my screen went by trying to power off and trying to unlock my phone.

I to am running FLB R2 and launcher pro, my screen has never frozen. The worst that has happened is that it has become unresponsive when laid flat. So for me the SF has been better with each new rom.

I love my SF. Running r6 rom.

Never had any problems. Received a Nokia N8 yesterday.. first impressions compared to android it feels like windows 95. lol

I always used nokias and this is my first Android phone. I will never look back. ;)

I have had no problems with my sf that I haven't caused myself!! I now am running FBL G2 with launcher pro and my SF rocks. I use either the stock android keyboard or swype which both are fab. The guys are great on this site and will always help out with issues all you need to do is ask.

Very happy with my SF, only time its frozen is when its been sleeping for a long time, and thats on a custom 2.2 ROM. All the 2.1 roms are rock solid.

Will still be sticking with the 2.2 ROMS, gotta support the modders on here.

Tried the 2.2 Blade Modaco ROM and the screen froze!

Switched to VillainBlade and its rock solid, they added hardware acceleration in 2.1 so I am very happy indeed.

Best feature so far is the accuracy and speed of the GPS and aGPS, wonderful.

The only problem that I've got is using it at work with the wifi (802.1x EAP MsCHAPv2), otherwise is a great mobile.

The only application that lags is the Ungry Birds, all other games run smothly (including some 3D)

No problem with the screen, using custom bake, Modaco's R4

Have you tried the new gingerbread keyboard? It's much better than stock but more responsive than the HTC IME imo.

Normally I would say that my ROM is the best but as it's based on the older engineering leak it's not the best. If you upgrade to the MCR you'll have less problems. I did have the screen freeze once with my rom but never with the MCR.

Any future version of FLB will be based upon the newer ROM so might be worth you updating to MCR now then either sticking with it or upgrading to my ROM in the future. I just need to work out exactly what I'm going to do to the rom first.

Any chance you're going to make an update to FLB with the new leak?

I'm still on r2 of your rom and touchwood had no problems at all.

mines OK the back is too flimsy imo.

also a general model 'issue' i have is that the screen width resolution and size is not enough. especially compared to a samsung. the extra width seems to be very useful for things like browsing forums, fantasy football etc.

i'm happy with it, i have had more expensive phones which have bugged me with their quirky ways, the blade is no different but i'm happy with it

I'm happy with it, though I wish it was faster, but then again I'm always like that with things. Even been considering a £300 Galaxy S, but I'm not sure.

I get screen freeze occasionally using the old (First) Alpha leak :P

Found that turning it off over night / rebooting every day solves this just fine.

As with the Pulse, a reboot a day keeps the doctor away ;)

Have you tried Xscope as a browser? It's VERY good at reformatting forums to fit all the text on the screen without sideways scrolling (in landscape mode).

I'm very happy with mine, bought one for my wife too and she loves it. We weren't planning to buy smartphones, till we saw this at less than £100 each and the £7.50 T-Mobile SIM deal. Great Value for money! ;)

I found it impossible to use the orange mail app as it continuously failed to validate my phone number (could have been Orange registration problems) so I flashed a few ROMS and finished on 2.2r4 but the touch-screen started to go dodgy and not doesn't work at all even flashed back to stock B08 rom.

I spent a couple of hours in the Orange shop (I had forgotten that Orange Retail is a different company and that Orange is the only vendor in the whole country where you can't buy something online and take it back to a shop).

However the shop guys were as helpful as they could be and I should have a new SF tomorrow morning.

Is there evidence that flashing can cause the touchscreen failure?
