SF clock not synchronising

Time on my unlocked SF running O2/GiffGaff seemed ok. Maybe just a decent xtal?

Adjusted manually to a random time, ensured 'Automatic - Use network provider values' was set.

Time didn't auto-correct - still hasn't after an hour or so.

However, installation of an Orange SIM successfully sync's time.

If I root the SF will time sync be available and work outside of an Orange SIM?

Is it an Orange time sync'ing app running? Is there an alternative?

Not all networks offer time syncing services...

And if yours is setup to use Orange's your not going to be able to connect to it if your on a different network....

My Pre is the same, its a AT&T one that I had unlocked and it wont automatically set the time when I use a UK SIM, but stick my AT&T one in and its all happy.

No idea about GiffGaff, but on my unlocked SF with a t-mobile sim (and I'm currently in France so it is roaming in addition), if I set a random time as soon as I set it back to network provided time it sets itself properly.
