Hi,

Long time lurker, first time poster

Updated yesterday from 2.1 (specifically, Sebastian404's de-orangeated-rom - r6) to Paul's alpha3 2.2.

Update went fine, I carried out a full wipe beforehand and cleared cache etc. The ROM itself has been working perfectly

However, formatted SD card today on phone via "settings/SD card & phone storage settings/Format SD card"

The phone gave me this error in notifications

Damaged SD card

SD card damaged. You may have to reformat it.

The format option in "SD card & phone storage settings" no longer does anything (I assume because it's not mounting)

Followed this thread: http://android.modaco.com/index.php?showto...amp;mode=linear

as advice on how to fix and now have this error when I try to mount with clockwork..

E: Can't mount /sdcard

E: Can't mount /dev/block/mmcb1k0p1 (or /dev/block/mmcblk0)

(Invalid argument)

ERROR mounting SDCARD : !

Have had OSF since October and everything was working fine till now, any suggestions as to how to get my SD card back ...

Thanks Max

Hi. I know this is an annoying problem, we should probably let the Devs know and maybe they'll find a fix.

Anyway, after step 3, did you 'eject' the SD from the computer? That might be causing the can not mount error.

1. Boot in Clockwork Mode

2. Mount USB (in Advanced menu item)

3. Format using windows XP (FAT32) - took about 2 mins.

4. Mount SD in Clockwork Mode

5. Select Format in Clockwork Mode

Good luck!

*FIXED*

Continually formatting the SD card different ways with Clockwork, XP, Ubuntu and every other operating software under the sun was getting me nowhere.

So I simply put the "damaged" SD card into my Blackberry, it found the SD Card immediately and formatted it in less than 30 seconds.

Put the now Blackberry formatted SD card into my Blade and problem solved.

Simples

Shame I couldn't find an Android solution but not being able to use the phone to format the SD card is definitely a problem with the 2.2 ROM

using ClockWorkMod 2.5.1.3 would've done that in recovery mode (Volume Down + Power) !

2.5.0.9 couldn't do it, but 2.5.1.3 can.

I JUST DID IT NOw, with an old card :)
