Guest HAL18000 Posted December 9, 2010 Report Posted December 9, 2010 Hi, Making custom ROMs seems interesting I have been using Linux for 15-ish years and I am quite familiar with kernel compiliation and things like that, so I can probably make my way in doing custom ROMs But I need a starting point, like some tutorials. Is there any thread here explaining how to create ROMs? What applications do I need (Kitchen, ...) and where can I get them from? What are the difficulties? All the ROM with Android 2.2 come from a leaked chinese froyo rom. If that rom was not available, how is it possible to have a working froyo on the Blade? Which point to my next question: what is needed to have a working Gingerbread? Also what is required to support the TFT screen ? Thanks, Germain

Thanks, Germain we would have had to make 2.2 with the .29 source wait for the rom to be release officially or the .32 source released officially (still waiting on zte :) ) 2.3 has been kinda made on the same day as it was annonced :) it is a very rough pre alpha its upside down slow ect but its there ready for you to try by using fastboot to chuck it on your phone now that was made with the emulator from the sdk and the .29 source it currenly needs help with the screen of course
Guest HAL18000 Posted December 10, 2010 Report Posted December 10, 2010 Thanks Matty-p Are the .29 source released yet ? I think I saw that somewhere, but cannot find it now. For the TFT screen support, is it the base ROM that decides if the drivers are available ? i.e. MoDaCo Custom Rom - r4 Base ROM: Orange --> no TFT support Finnish Fillyjonk RLS2 Base ROM: Finnish --> TFT support Stackbladroid v0.1 Base ROM: Chinese R1 --> no TFT support MoDaCo Custom Froyo A3 Base ROM: Chinese R4 --> TFT support
