Echo on calls with Modaco no-sense ROM

Hi all

Flashed to the Modaco ROM yesterday and included the updated radio (32.49.00.32U_5.11.05.27). When I called my wife she said she could hear herself talking. I noticed a few other people has remarked the same so it was suggested to flash to 32.48.00.32U_5.11.05.14 which was listed in the Defrost thread at XDA. But the problem still exists?

Any ideas?

The latest radio has a higher volume on the ear speaker. In order to avoid echoes, TURN THE VOLUME DOWN using the side +/- key.

It was as low as it would go but still echoing.

I've done some more investigating. I've tried the latest RADIO image (32.49.00.32U_5.11.05.27) and it made no difference. If I mute the mic on my phone during the call then the other person does not hear an echo of themselves thus fixing the problem. I've also tried covering the speaker and mic but neither stops the echo, only muting the mic using the dialer software works.

As I've tried 3 different RADIO images now I'm starting to think it is something in the ROM at fault.

I was using 5.11.05.27 and ppl complained a loooot....

now using 5.11.05.14 and it's a little better.. still not good

Is there an older radio image where there is no echo we could downgrade to?

Well I've just gone back to 32.44.00.32U_5.09.05.30_2 which I'm fairly certain was what was on from stock before going to the Modaco ROM and it is a little better but the echo is still there!!! Grrrrr!

Why are other people not complaining about this?! Are people putting up with it or what?!

Paul, could be a ROM thing? Or a mixture of ROM and RADIO image?

I've never experienced this problem on any of the roms I've installed so it could be just down to radio and rom combination. So far you're the only two with this problem so you could try to compare what you have in common.

I don't switch radios a lot and the radio Paulo Nobrega uses never gave me problems. Did you also install RIL as well as radio?

Check my signature. I've been using this radio and RIL since the day it was published and I've yet to experience any problems.

Odd, I have signatures turned on but I can't see yours?

I have since tried a few roms and I'm now on Oxygen 1.0.2 and my original radio and the problem is 95% gone. Liking the Oxygen rom a lot.
