Guest lenin26 Posted December 10, 2010 Report Posted December 10, 2010 Who can solve the problem of wake-up button (power) device? I tried to remapping the keys (system/usr/keylayout/), but this does not solve the problem. During unlock dmesg reports "request_suspend_state: wakeup (3 -> 0) ...." I found some interesting information on the kernel module http://www.thinksrc.com/2010/11/20/suspend-en.html. Who can fix and recompile the kernel?
Guest Cronnix Posted December 10, 2010 Report Posted December 10, 2010 That would be really great, it is quite an annoying problem that often home/back buttons wont wake up the phone. It specially cause problems for NoLED app or whatever it is called :/
Guest R_A_V Posted December 11, 2010 Report Posted December 11, 2010 It's a most annoying thing about this phone to unlock it with power button only.

Guest Treacles Posted December 11, 2010 Report Posted December 11, 2010 I dont think its really that much of an issue, my last phone was a Tocco Lite, and it actually annoyed me that the front buttons used to wake the screen, as it often woke itself in my pocket (Although the blade cant do anything itself as its capacitive rather than resistive)
Guest oh!dougal Posted December 11, 2010 Report Posted December 11, 2010 (edited) Who can solve the problem of wake-up button (power) device? I found some interesting information on the kernel module http://www.thinksrc.com/2010/11/20/suspend-en.html. Who can fix and recompile the kernel? If you had searched this forum, you would have found MANY existing threads on this subject. The reason that remapping keys does not work is that the front button module is not active during sleep. That is also why the Notification LED doesn't work during sleep. ZTE have been contacted about the issue, but despite their polite replies, its not clear that they even understand the specific problem, and they have not communicated their intention of changing anything. Naturally, they have never supplied any source code relating to the detailed control of their (proprietary) hardware. Therefore its only they that are likely to be able to ever fix the power to the switch module in software - if its not actually (as it might well be) a hardware issue. You may also have missed the info that the SF/Blade does not actually sleep when on charge - it only sleeps the screen. The front buttons are powered and mapped to wake the thing from screen save. (And the LED works in screen save too.) Various apps either keep the thing in screen save (not sleeping, so draining the battery quickly), or bring it out of proper sleep occasionally to do something (example FlashNotify). Pressing the power button isn't a massive deal - and its made easier with a tactile guide to take your finger towards the button (a tiny scrap of trimmed sticky tape does the job). Eventually your fingers learn where the button is, and it becomes less of a faff. Edited December 11, 2010 by oh!dougal
Guest mess17 Posted January 11, 2011 Report Posted January 11, 2011 I dont have a custom rom, i havent rooted my phone but my home, menu and back keys can unlock the screen on one press, allbeit rather sporadically. They work to unlock the screen more often than not but im wondering whether this is because the phone is not sleeping properly but i dont know how to check this. Any ideas would be helpful, although by the look of the response on this thread many of you would envy my situation lol

It also works like this when plugged into USB. It will be interesting to check why this is. In the worst case it could be a hardware interrupt on the power button, but if not, then we should be able to mod this.

Guest g0llem Posted March 2, 2011 Report Posted March 2, 2011 I would be pleased if wake up could be acomplished by another key. Now I have the problem that I have to press the power button so long that the screen starts in the options menu. I have to select an option and only then have the change to unlock my screen. Very irritating
Guest jonmac73 Posted March 3, 2011 Report Posted March 3, 2011 I have used SoftLocker Free to resolve this - works fine but does hit the battery performance. Are there any other software to use the front buttons that would be any better ? or do they all essentially do the same thing and therefore kill the battery equally. Thanks
