"My Location" in Google Maps over WiFi doesn't work

Hello people!

I was wondering why my Blades are not able to obtain a location in Google Maps over WiFi. With my old WM 6.5 phone this was not a problem at all. I have tried two diffirent devices: One is running "FLB-Froyo G2 for ZTE Blade (r3a)" where the location only works over GPS iirc (obviously this is a Froyo problem?). But on my second one with "Customised BladeVillain 1.1.0 RLS3" it's also only working with GPS. I've enabled the according settings for determining the location using WiFi on both.

Is this a ROM problem, and if, in which ROM is it working?

You can use Pauls Froyo R3 or R4

I've tested this ROM but i still prefer another one until it's not so alphaish anymore :) . Besides that I need to set up a device for my girlfriend who i wont expect to put up with that ROM. Is there a possibility to add coarse location to the other ROMs by myself?

I'm using bladevillain 1.1.0 (original) and location based on WiFi is working fine for me.

I've just flashed the ROM you mentioned and location based on WiFi really works with it! Thanks!

Would be interesting which one of the changes made in the customised bladevillain is causing the problem with the location service....

I'm using the stock Orange UK ROM and WiFi location works for me, accurate to maybe 5m or 10m. It is actually very close to spot on, but indicates a potential margin for error that is very pessimistic. Turn off WiFi and my location drifts off by about 2km. Turn it back on and I regain +/-10m accuracy. With GPS turned on the accuracy seems to be good within 1m or 2m.
