1.6, no baseband version...

Hi

Unfortunately I've screwed up my Dell Streak when trying to update it. The baseband version is now set to 'unknown' and I'm a bit too scared to tinker further in case I completely ruin it.

I'm still able to Fastboot files on to it, and can copy files to the memory card. I've tried a few times to put it back to factory defaults, but with no success (doesn't seem to load Update.pkg from stock recovery menu, just goes to a black screen each time. Did previously have clockworkmod running on it).

Does anyone have any ideas how I should proceed as I'm now a bit confused. Thanks :)

Have just noticed from an earlier post - I was previously on 'Baseband Version: GAUSB1A110421-EU'.

You may as well flash the baseband in the StreakDroid thread and go from there.

Ok, have flashed clockworkmod back on, and restored from backup. So I'm back at square one with the baseband version set to 'unknown' on v1.6.

Have tried installing StreakDroid but streak just hangs on the dell logo. Does anyone know if I'm missing the installation of other files?

install original recovery for 21 devices and then any update.pkg for o2 whatever you want ,must work 100%,if you install 8105 pkg you can then able to flash 309recovery and then 2.2 any pkg

you can do something like this flash via fastboot (untouched 2.2) and flash recovery 309 for 2.2 in the end ,after this doo a factory reset

Have just installed the original stock recovery (6941) from here, and tried installing Build 8105 and Build 8105 from the same location. Both just end up with a black screen when I try to run the update.pkg.

Any more ideas? The button lights also flash oddly at times. :)

Thanks Alex. The recovery from 1.6 enabled me to install 'update-8105-21.pkg', so I'm now on 2.1. Yay! :)

I'll get on the case finding an upgrade to 2.2 later today...

Thanks for the help everyone :)

you can now wait 2...3 days for ota o2 froyo from dell because it seems to rolling out in 15

Oops, too late mate as I've already installed Official 2.2 Froyo Untouched. It's ok, but ClockworkMod doesn't seem to work with it and I can't seem to enable superuser permissions - in fact installing superuser permissions really screws it up, to the point of a re-install of 2.2.

This sounds like a promising alternative to the default clockworkmod, but still doesn't help the superuser permissons...

NEW StreakMod Recovery worked well. The only thing I can't do is flash individual packages, such as the 2.3 keyboard, but not a big deal.

z4root worked like a charm to give root access. :)

so i think i can helb u...

just du this guide http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/1557150

Disclaimer: Flashing ROMs always carries a risk. While I haven't heard of any cases of phones getting bricked so far thanks to the bootloader interface, there is always a possibility that you might brick your device rendering it inoperable, so proceed at your own risk! It's a bit complex, so do read the instructions carefully.

You Know....

after this you can load the update with clockwork

greetings Madblaster
