finally got sdk installed, and as this is the first android I've owned with an available source, can some one give some pointers

it not quite as simple as that but head over to a few of the development threads for 2.2 and this thread for 2.3 and read and learn and maybe contribute (especilly 2.3) or google 'rom cooking for beginers' or similar here have some links :)

just and update, found a plug in for dsixda's kitchen which does all the hardwork for you, going to see if I can script the zte vendor tree into it, so everything gets automatically applied

my other idea is 2.1 boot.img, create a 1.6 system.img and backport parts of eclair to it, like the ril and telephony framework
