Guest AlphaVision Posted December 11, 2010 Report Posted December 11, 2010 Hi. I have three types of wall chargers at home with the micro USB outlet. I wanted to know if they all work on SF. What concerns me is the ampere output 1. Original SF wall charger: Output 5V, 700 mA 2. Plantronics wall charger: Output 5V, 350 mA 3. HTC Touch Diamond wall charger: 5V, 1A So, the other than SF ones are greater and lesser amperes. So will it be safe or not to use one or both of them? Any suggestions?
Guest Len Ash Posted December 11, 2010 Report Posted December 11, 2010 Don't use the 350mA one- it will take an age to charge (if at all as you will probably send it in to current limit). The 1A will be fine, the phone will only draw what it needs....

Guest jchamier Posted December 11, 2010 Report Posted December 11, 2010 Hi. I have three types of wall chargers at home with the micro USB outlet. I wanted to know if they all work on SF. I've no problems using an Amazon Kindle charger and cable. The charger is rated at 0.85A. Guess I should try the iPhone 3GS charger at 1A at some point. They're both very small plug mounted chargers that the USB cable attaches to. Kindle cable is white, goes well with my white SF :-)
Guest AlphaVision Posted December 11, 2010 Report Posted December 11, 2010 I was using the 1A also, but thought that might decrease the battery life somehow and decided to ask you. I also read that PC USB outputs 0.5A so I got little frustrated. I guess the Ampere doesn't play that much of a batery life factor, right?
Guest ZTE Posted December 11, 2010 Report Posted December 11, 2010 The amp rating of the chargers is the maximum current that can be drawn from them. As the original SF charger is rated at 700mA I'm guessing that the SF requires that much current to charge. It's probably not a good idea to use a charger rated at less than 700mA. Anything over that will be fine though. Hope that helps. :)
Guest Dark Man X Posted December 11, 2010 Report Posted December 11, 2010 3. HTC Touch Diamond wall charger: 5V, 1A i´m using this charger, no problem :)
Guest IVIetaCreatoR Posted December 11, 2010 Report Posted December 11, 2010 (edited) i´m using this charger, no problem :) I used a universal micro-usb charger once ( don't remember the amperage but i suspect it would be around ~1000mA ) which caused the blade screen to become unresponsive while plugged in. The hardkey buttons where still working. Edited December 12, 2010 by IVIetaCreatoR
