How to install Custom Roms on ZTE Blade (TFT)

Hello,

I ordered my ZTE Blade yesterday. In some forums I have read that there is a way to accelerate the ZTE Blade by installing a Custom Rom. Unfortunately this phone is my first phone with Android and I haven't got any experience with it. So I don't know how to install the Custom Roms.

Could you tell me how to install them with a step-by-step instruction for Noobs? ^^

Is it possible that the phone could break/brick? Or could I easily prevent this, and how?

Thank you very much,

Sorry for my bad English :)

read the whole first post. then read it again. then ask if you still have questions. bricking the phone can be prevented in general by following the rules to the point and making sure to download the correct files for your exact device. with the blade it's generally easy (to root/hack/flash it, not to brick it).

It is VERY difficult to brick the Phone.

If you can hold VOLUME UP and get the green android - then you can re-flash the RECOVERY ROM with Clockwork

If you can hold VOLUME DOWN and get the clockwork screen - then you can REFLASH the whole ROM (in some cases this updated the BOOT ROM too)

If you have flashed Clockwork and It Doesn't work, redownload the Clockwork IMAGE and re-Flash Recovery.

You Should NEVER need to flash the BOOT part of the ROM directly (Unless your just ROOTING a Stock ROM) - and only should consider doing this IF you have tested that clockwork is working.

1. You must root your phone before installing a custom ROM (not sure about the Clockworkmod recovery), to root your phone, install "appinstaller" from the Market -> download and move this to your phones memory: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment...mp;d=1283202114 -> install it on your phone via appinstaller -> open it and press "Root"! :)

this step is not necessary. the spl on this phone is not protected, there is no need to root before flashing the recovery.
