I can confirm that this great app http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=833953 works fine on T-Mobile Pulse! At last there is a way to install custom ROM on phones with broken USB-ports! Just root your device and install "Wireless ADB" from market if you need to access via adb. You can install app "ROM Manager" from market and use it to install Clockwork MOD recovery.
