Hey guys,

I read a lot about android having problems to see ad hoc networks...

Is there any way to let our san fransiscos identify and show ad hoc networks? I tried a fix from xda (here) but it did not work for me, as it's made for the hero...

So can anyone provide a solution for this problem?

thanks in advance!

PS: my rom is blade villain 1.0.1 and my OS is windows 7... if that matters :)

hey, as far as i'm aware ad-hoc isn't supported on 2.1. you'll need to upgrade to 2.2.

alternatively, if you're setting up an ad-hoc connection between SF and computer, just install a program called "connectify", which allows you to use your computer's connection over wifi.

hope it helps!

Ok thanks for your help...

I already tried connectify, but it didn't work with my wlan adapter. Just the option to set up an ad-hoc network worked... that's why I started this thread :)

Anyway, now I know that I need 2.2...

Ok I know that this thread is quite old, but here is another question: I use 2.2 for quite a while now and just tried again to set up an ad-hoc network.

But even 2.2 (JapJelly r7) can't see ad-hoc networks set up through Connectify or Windows 7 itself...

Any solutions for this?

Hi Xenon,

Did you manage to sort out adhoc problem with OSF? If yes, please share the solution.

Also if you can share your experience of upgrading from 2.1 to 2.2.

Thanks!
