Guest Xenon0816 Posted December 11, 2010 Report Posted December 11, 2010 Hey guys, I read a lot about android having problems to see ad hoc networks... Is there any way to let our san fransiscos identify and show ad hoc networks? I tried a fix from xda (here) but it did not work for me, as it's made for the hero... So can anyone provide a solution for this problem? thanks in advance! PS: my rom is blade villain 1.0.1 and my OS is windows 7... if that matters :)
Guest brunocrosier Posted December 12, 2010 Report Posted December 12, 2010 hey, as far as i'm aware ad-hoc isn't supported on 2.1. you'll need to upgrade to 2.2. alternatively, if you're setting up an ad-hoc connection between SF and computer, just install a program called "connectify", which allows you to use your computer's connection over wifi. hope it helps!

Ok thanks for your help... I already tried connectify, but it didn't work with my wlan adapter. Just the option to set up an ad-hoc network worked... that's why I started this thread :) Anyway, now I know that I need 2.2...
Guest Xenon0816 Posted January 19, 2011 Report Posted January 19, 2011 Ok I know that this thread is quite old, but here is another question: I use 2.2 for quite a while now and just tried again to set up an ad-hoc network. But even 2.2 (JapJelly r7) can't see ad-hoc networks set up through Connectify or Windows 7 itself... Any solutions for this?
Guest Phoenix Silver Posted January 19, 2011 Report Posted January 19, 2011 connectify works here in a virtualbox under linux i'm looking for to make the same thing but in linux

Also if you can share your experience of upgrading from 2.1 to 2.2. Thanks!
