Guest Stephen Hyde Posted December 11, 2010 Report Posted December 11, 2010 (edited) This ROM is heavily updated and still being developed at a fairly rapid pace. Copy the update zip to your memory card first Steps 2-4 are only needed if you are coming from a build OLDER than 1.2 2. Power down your streak and boot into fastboot do this by pressing power until the keypad lights come on then HOLD camera until you get to a white screen, then tap on the fastboot text in top right corner, 3. Connect your streak to pc - the text on streak should change to FASTBOOT_MODE. you should place the amss.mbn file into the same folder as fastboot on your pc run the following commands from command prompt on your pc Windows:
fastboot -i 0x413c flash amss amss.mbn Linux fastboot flash amss amss.mbn 4. Type the following commands to reboot your streak - again alow it to boot into the main ui - you will lose network connection for the moment, this is fine, also streak WILL reboot twice before booting, again this is normal Windows: fastboot -i 0x413c reboot Linux fastboot reboot 5. Once your device has booted shut down again and boot into clockwork recovery by doing the following boot to recovery as per step 1 then choose option 2. 6. Flash the 1.5 update zip 7. reboot Thanks to: Everyone for suggesting things they want adding android-roms for the mirror Vinokirk for helping diagnose and sort out 2.1 baseband ril support and gps Andycap & fards for providing modified Gps.conf homeiss forthe excellent upgrade/downgrade guide everyone else for just jumping in and helping each other, thats the true community sprit that makes me do this sort of dev for android and not some other mobile os. everyone else who helped/is helping hopefully thats everything :) any issues theirs me and a few of my tech head irc helpers keeping an eye on the posts. or just jump in the irc channel #dellstreak on freenode for help. also please feel free to donate to my work if you find it useful  - any amount is appreciated GBP Donate | USD Donate Edited January 6, 2011 by Stephen Hyde

Guest dacho Posted December 11, 2010 Report Posted December 11, 2010 Great. THANK YOU very much. One quick question about the baseband difference between 1.5 and 1.46. Is it any different?
Guest Crinos512 Posted December 11, 2010 Report Posted December 11, 2010 So if I'm running 1.4.6 then the New Baseband ROM is the one I want, and I can just use Clockwork Recovery to load it.... correct?
Guest Stephen Hyde Posted December 11, 2010 Report Posted December 11, 2010 not in the new baseband version

Guest RSullivan Posted December 11, 2010 Report Posted December 11, 2010 For those of us who do not use Fring or other video chat apps, is there any way we can port the Camera Framework and App from 1.4.6?
Guest mmp669 Posted December 11, 2010 Report Posted December 11, 2010 Delay? are you kidding? That's freaking fast!!!!! :) ! Keep up with the great work.

Guest Stephen Hyde Posted December 11, 2010 Report Posted December 11, 2010 uses same kernel as 1.4.6 so yes
Guest Hells_Child Posted December 11, 2010 Report Posted December 11, 2010 Loving the bit when flashing the .zip where it says "welcome to streakdroid", lol. awsome. took maybe 5 mins to boot up after applying zip. I just flashed the new baseband and applied the zip over 1.4.6. The new market place is CRAZZZZY (in a good way tho) while take a while to used to it but thats what i love about all these new updates, there's always something new to learn everytime :) Many thanks Steve, your doing a fantastic job with the streak (maybe dell will take note and offer you a job? :) )

Guest Adilson Posted December 11, 2010 Report Posted December 11, 2010 I've just updated from official 2.2 to 1.5 and I seem to have lost GPS. Looks like it isn't activated by programs that use it like Google Maps. I didn't update the baseband tough as it seemed to be unecessary according to the instructions. The other features seem to be working fine so far.

Guest Fone_Fanatic Posted December 11, 2010 Report Posted December 11, 2010 Awesome! Dl'ing now directly to device :) Is this like the other builds which keeps all apps and other info untouched? No need to back up and restore?
Guest tina3 Posted December 11, 2010 Report Posted December 11, 2010 thank you :) looks like your really getting all your roms out for xmas!
Guest Stephen Hyde Posted December 11, 2010 Report Posted December 11, 2010 it *should* work without fac reset but no promises as with all roms
Guest LorD CLockaN Posted December 11, 2010 Report Posted December 11, 2010 Now waiting for battery percentage to be confirmed working on 150
Guest dacho Posted December 11, 2010 Report Posted December 11, 2010 (edited) gps seems to be not working, it is enabled but when I start google maps there is no gps icon on the task bar and after a while it says location unavailable. I was hoping that I didn't have to do a hard reset :) edit: It also became unrooted. Edited December 11, 2010 by dacho
Guest Us3Less Posted December 11, 2010 Report Posted December 11, 2010 it *should* work without fac reset but no promises as with all roms Working just fine with 1.4.6 without factory reset ...... All my apps are still there . Great job Steve
