zte blade headphone jack hiss

I've noticed considerable hiss from the headphone jack even when volume is set to 0, it only happens when the blade is meant to be playing sounds, for example it stops a few seconds after a song is paused. Is this normal?

I've also noticed a ticking sound that comes from the left earphone when wifi or bluetooth is on and the phone is in sleep mode, when airplane mode is on this doesn't happen. Anyone getting this?

standard orange rom btw

Not having this problem myself, may be worth exchanging.

What App are you playing the music through? Maybe worth trying a different App first :)

I've noticed the hiss that you describe, although I thought it was normal and easily ignored. The same thing happens with the internal speaker when not using headphones, but that is even quieter and less noticeable.

No ticking, however.

I get exactly the same issue with my phone, low level hiss (I just assumed bad quality amp) and the feint clicking in the left channel after 30 seconds or so of not playing any sounds.

I am running Paul's 2.1 r4

Neither of these issues have annoyed me enough to warrant mentioning before :)

I thinks it's most likely radio interference... What with all the microwaves and radio waves parading around in such a small space. I think the only cure is Airplane mode, but otherwise, it's not too much of a problem.

the same thing happens with any sound, even when using the dialler. airplane mode doesn't fix the hiss but it does fix the clicking

It happens with the speaker too I've just noticed but thats fine. The problem is if I were to get some nice in ear phone (sennhieser precision x300-II) I'm worried it would become unbearable, Not sure if I want to take it back though as its oled! Wifi does seem a little weak though, my ds and psp get 3 bars where this only gets 1!

Mine hisses too when silent but in a music playing mode - like paused track or whatever. I can't hear it when anything is playing though so it doesn't bother me.
