Guest Drizz Posted December 12, 2010 Report Posted December 12, 2010 (edited) Just thought I'd give a heads up to those that are new to Android and are looking at buying apps from the market. You have to be aware that your bank might charge you an overseas transaction fee, my bank Lloyds TSB charge £1 so an app that might only be 99p costs me £1.99. So just take that into consideration before buying that great game. Edited December 12, 2010 by Drizz

Also does anyone know of any other bank which applies these charges? Iam with HSBC and I not noticed anything but then again I very rarely check my statements. Just add this to the long list of things that we British get ripped off with.
Guest montage Posted December 12, 2010 Report Posted December 12, 2010 Can you use Paypal for market apps? would be an easy way around charges if they do
Guest Drizz Posted December 12, 2010 Report Posted December 12, 2010 Can you use Paypal for market apps? would be an easy way around charges if they do I don't know, maybe if you went to the apps developers website!
Guest warriorscot Posted December 12, 2010 Report Posted December 12, 2010 Lots of ways around that. Easiest would probably be prepaid credit card.
Guest removed-14 Posted December 12, 2010 Report Posted December 12, 2010 Can you use Paypal for market apps? would be an easy way around charges if they do I think I read that other payment methods are coming to the market including paypal. I'm 99% certain my HSBC credit card has not charged me for buying through the market.
Guest worto03 Posted December 13, 2010 Report Posted December 13, 2010 just for info - egg money credit card didn't charge me any extra last week.
Guest travisb Posted December 13, 2010 Report Posted December 13, 2010 I suspect the charge is for Debit Card transactions as apposed to Credit Cards.
