Guest Superwallah Posted December 12, 2010 Report Posted December 12, 2010 Hi, I would like to start a thread to summarize your experiences with sync tools (apps and PC client). I have not found the ultimate software yet. My requirements: 1. It must sync contacts, calendar at minimum. Syncing arbitrary files is nice, but does not solve the Contact sync requirement. 2. It must not sync with Google (gmail). (Please do not start the discussion if it makes sense (or nonsense) to use a Google phone without syncing with Google. The answer is short: I like the idea of a relatively open mobile OS, like Android, but I don't like uploading my life to Google.) 3. It should sync with one of the following: SYNCML server, Activesync, Outlook PC client (via Windows client). 4. It should sync all contact fields available on Android in both directions without messing up the database or losing information. Test: It must be possible to create a contact on the Android with entries in all possible fields, sync, copy the contact on the PC/server side to a new contact with a different name, sync. The Android should now contain two contact entries which differ only in the name. I once tried to compile an overview list: http://superwallah.twoday.net/stories/6221612/ But I hope you can help to update it and get it more complete. Thanks, Superwallah

Thanks, Superwallah Maybe you can try MyPhoneExplorer. This used to be an SonyEricsson Phone Data suite, but since the last version also available for Android. http://www.fjsoft.at/en/ Busdriver Edited December 13, 2010 by Busdriver
