Guest emergant Posted December 12, 2010 Report Posted December 12, 2010 I noticed today that if i plugin a usb stick and power down/startup I get a brief led flash on the stick at shutdown and startup meaning I assume that there is powe to the port so maybe it is software after a:ll.

I appreciate that and perhaps should have searched harder for the original thread :) But everything Ive read on the topic seemed to suggest that there had been no sign of power to the port. Possibly indicating a hardware limitaton as indicatdled by Vega. I thought this was new info suggesting that perhaps the ux100 firmware will help. Time will tell

Time will tell this is interesting. good find as i had a look about here and nobody mentioned power being on the port. might do some fiddling.
Guest warriorscot Posted December 12, 2010 Report Posted December 12, 2010 Pretty sure the port has full power its just locked as a slave/peripheral. The debate is whether this is something locked in software or hardware. Personally I can't see why they would limit it in hardware it couldn't possibly have cost much less to fit a fully capable USB.
