Syncing with google calendar

OK am I being a total numpty (it's not unheard of...I won't be linking to my previous thread). When I open the calendar app on the san fran it isn't linked to my google calendar, even though it is listed as one of the calendars in settings along with the holidays one.

What am I doing wrong? I'd assumed I wouldn't need to go online to access it, that I could somehow sync it. I was hoping it would sync with both my calendar and my husband's, is this possible or have I made that up?

Go to settings/ accounts and sync and check that the calendar is synced. I suspect you have set the calendar app to show your google calendar but you havent allowed it to sync.

Ah I was going into settings from the calendar menu rather than the main one. Sorted. Brilliant.

Do I need to manually sync or will it do it automatically now?

if you ticket "google calendar" in the main settings under accounts,

it will sync automatically througout the day (beware of your data costs)

if you untic it you can always do a manual sync, when you are in the sync menu with your google products listed and press the menu button.

interesting thing is, that you can select indidivual calendars to be shown from the calendar settings...

i guess you havent changed the android version of your SF or did you?

because since the update to froyo i cant... which is annoying.
