Guest tukang pda Posted December 14, 2010 Report Posted December 14, 2010 flibblesan was right. But IMO, there is something about the current bootscreen. So i changed it into the droid x eye bootscreen animation. If anyone wants it, just pm me your email and i'll send it for you
Guest fredewis Posted December 14, 2010 Report Posted December 14, 2010 You know that you can change this to another by replacing bootanimation.zip in /system/media/ with any other animation? You don't need Paul to do this for you (and I'd prefer he kept the current loading screen.. there is nothing wrong with it). yea i know this just wondered if paul would have liked a new boot animation that represented modaco.
Guest SWOriginal Posted December 14, 2010 Report Posted December 14, 2010 Everytime I try to change thevbe boot animation all I get is a black boot, how are you guys making working versions? I'm a graphics desighner so there's no need to noob it up :)

Guest Ricey155 Posted December 14, 2010 Report Posted December 14, 2010 litterally 5 secs in photoshop so its very rough and ugly but here you go at first i thought a faded man holding the spining android would be cool but no just no it fails i like the one on the left without the guy its a must have
Guest j3frea Posted December 14, 2010 Report Posted December 14, 2010 I chucked this together as an alternative option. I also added a little blue animated circle above the android logo but I don't really like it. If you like this, feel free to do what you like with it.
Guest Victor von Zeppelin Posted December 14, 2010 Report Posted December 14, 2010 Here's my one I uploaded to the Alpha topic, I think it's just a bit more minimal and bootscreeny.
Guest Lollingsgrad Posted December 14, 2010 Report Posted December 14, 2010 How about, start with the Android logo, but then it zooms out and the Android image was on the orange trouser guy's phone. Best of both worlds.
Guest Arr Too Posted December 14, 2010 Report Posted December 14, 2010 Can someone attempt the green Android morphing into MoDaCo man?
Guest Victor von Zeppelin Posted December 14, 2010 Report Posted December 14, 2010 Can someone attempt the green Android morphing into MoDaCo man? I feel that an animation is just a bad idea. At boot, they're always janky, low fps rubbish. Still image is the way to go.

Win7 looks nice. And so does the nexus one animation still stutters though and I guess the blade isn't the most powerful machine. Do the animations increase the boot time at all?

Do the animations increase the boot time at all? well they would if they are laggy and jerky but only by a small amount of time...
Guest Victor von Zeppelin Posted December 14, 2010 Report Posted December 14, 2010 well they would if they are laggy and jerky but only by a small amount of time... Yea, the blade's is always gonna be jerky, there's too much stuff loading at boot. WP7, in response to previous poster, is an exceptionally fluid OS, and Android can't compare there, because all you got to play with is an animated gif
Guest ezablade Posted December 15, 2010 Report Posted December 15, 2010 (edited) I'm no graphics designer, but, as a rough idea... (Edit... with the image) Edited December 15, 2010 by ezablade
Guest fredewis Posted December 15, 2010 Report Posted December 15, 2010 (edited) hi guys well i resived the droid eye animation and works great on the sanfran. i wasent the creater or have nothing to do with it. try at your own risk i do not take responsability for anything wrong happening to your phone. here you go Just copy that (with root explorer) to system/ media/ and overwrite the existing (delete the zip thats there already) Don't forget to change it's permission(long click on zip in root explorer) into something like this, (x means blank v mins tik R W E user v v x group v x x others v x x reboot your phone enjoy...works on r4 mcr 2.2s guys pm your email and ill send it to you cant upload Edited December 15, 2010 by fredewis

In Modaco's R4, the bootanimation.zip also exists in /system/media? the only thing that I've got is a audio directory, am I missing something?

I'm using Droid Explorer (Windows) to check this (I already used it to access the wpa_supplicant.conf file). Double checked with adb shell and I don't see the expected file/directory.
