I used Android Mate that has a root explorer and the result is the same :)

Ok, I've got the apk, I can open it with winzip and change all the images, what about now? Any next steps?

Yea, the blade's is always gonna be jerky, there's too much stuff loading at boot. WP7, in response to previous poster, is an exceptionally fluid OS, and Android can't compare there, because all you got to play with is an animated gif

I've pushed my Nexus One's boot animation to the blade, works perfectly - lower res but it's perfectly fine.

As for jerky animation, if the animation is to twinkle or glow or wobble (rather than smooth motion) then the jerkiness doesn't matter
