As my nexus one did that.
Guest removed-14 Posted December 13, 2010 Report Posted December 13, 2010 (edited) What model router is it? Are you using WEP/WPA/WAP2? Edited December 13, 2010 by removed-14
Guest Kaka Posted December 13, 2010 Report Posted December 13, 2010 I would try changing the channels on the router. Worked for me. Had 6. Very congested. Upped it to 11. Perfect now.
Guest The Yellow Monster Posted December 13, 2010 Report Posted December 13, 2010 Same here, change of channel worked for me, all my devices worked apart from my Vega, then I changed channel and everything worked, I was on 13 and changed to 3.
Guest Touch Graphite Posted December 13, 2010 Report Posted December 13, 2010 Agreed on channel selection, I've seen virgin media supplied routers supplied running channel 13, and some devices just wont see that channel. Its all about europe channel bands and all that. Very weird.
Guest warriorscot Posted December 13, 2010 Report Posted December 13, 2010 The Vega has problems with channels from what I and others have seen, a quick change often corrects the vega deciding to ignore a wireless signal.
Guest beaker656 Posted December 13, 2010 Report Posted December 13, 2010 Same here, my router was set to Chan 13 & was visible to my phone, PS3 Xbox 360 but not my Vega, as soon as I changed to Chan 1, bingo Bangor it was set free.
Guest andyh1877 Posted December 14, 2010 Report Posted December 14, 2010 (edited) still having probs :) changed channel number , i can see router on vega noticfication list , it trys to connect but disconnects ive maneged to get it to connect twice to my router in the last 2 days but it seams to take an hour or longer to finally manage to connect :) my router is belkin wireless g router model number f5d7230-4 and im using WEP/WPA/WAP2 Edited December 14, 2010 by andyh1877
Guest removed-14 Posted December 14, 2010 Report Posted December 14, 2010 Have you tried updating the firmware of your router? You also haven't said what encryption method you are using? Some people have had issues with WEP and when switching to WPA/2 have had success.
Guest Touch Graphite Posted December 14, 2010 Report Posted December 14, 2010 There is an app on the market to check the traffic on wireless channels. Pretty sure I read about it on XDA.

Guest jorgthegreat Posted December 14, 2010 Report Posted December 14, 2010 Had the same problem with my linksys kept trying to connect. Solved it by assigning a static ip to the vega, had to do the same with a IPOD touch i had previously. Anyone know why i cant use DHCP? Laptops connect fine.

Try assigning a static IP to Vega? (As has been suggested above :) )

Guest removed-14 Posted December 14, 2010 Report Posted December 14, 2010 ok where do i get ip info and other info that needs to be imputed ? Have a look in your router admin page and find the DHCP settings. Post back here what they say.
Guest boffboff Posted December 14, 2010 Report Posted December 14, 2010 (edited) ok where do i get ip info and other info that needs to be imputed , in other words howdo i add a static ip When you need to make changes to your router config is it via a web browser? If so, the number that is usually displayed in the address bar (E.g. 192.168.0.1) will be your router's IP. This is usually the DEFAULT GATEWAY address when setting your static IP. The IP ADDRESS of the Vega will be the same except for the last number. It can be set to any number between 2-254 ('1' is already taken by the router itself) E.g. 192.168.0.2, 192.168.0.100, 192.168.0.254. Please bear in mind that your other connected devices will already be assigned addresses in that range also. If your router is the DHCP server then most of the address in use will be from 1 upwards, so to be safe you can set your Vega's IP address to x.x.x.254 - E.g. 192.168.0.254 The SUBNET MASK will usually be 255.255.255.0 unless you have NAT set up and multiple static IP's from your ISP. (In which case you probably don't need help from me!) Hope that helps. edit for typo Edited December 14, 2010 by boffboff
Guest crockwit Posted December 14, 2010 Report Posted December 14, 2010 An app called Ipconfig (free on the market) makes it easy to set up your Vega with a static ip.
Guest jorgthegreat Posted December 14, 2010 Report Posted December 14, 2010 Easiest way is to open up command prompt on your PC. Start>Run then type CMD When the screen loads up type ipconfig/all You will need to add IP address (pick a different last number from the one on your PC), Gateway (same as PC), Subnet Mask (same) & the two DNS servers (same)

Guest arad85 Posted December 15, 2010 Report Posted December 15, 2010 (edited) so to be clear here i need to set up a static ip on my router or on my vega ? , input info to router or vega ? You put the information in your Vega The router configuration page will tell you what the DHCP range of the router is (you will most probably access it through a link which looks like http://192.168.x.y/something). That is, if the router is asked by an appliance for an IP address, it will return a free IP address within this range. The IP address you pick for your static IP for your vega should be outside this range and should also not be the same as the router. The information is then entered in the network settings section of the vega. Edited December 15, 2010 by arad85
