Ummm some help plz

HI guys.

SO i got a Huawei u8230 as a gift from my relative.

so i started to browse these forums and now have some questions.

like I read about ROM Manager but it says I Need to root my phone? Now I am on Andriod 2.1 so how do I root it? There is nothing about rooting in the ultimate pulse owners guide?

Thats pretty much my primary question.

If I have more I shall post them.

To root the phone all you do is flash a rooted ROM. In the ultimate guide, if you read on installing a custom recovery image (I suggest clockwork), then you need to boot into recovery mode and flash one of the ROMS available on here.. Suggest the Richard_Arkless 2.2 rom as it's the best I have found so far.

So to Recap

1. Install Clockwork Recovery

2. Download rooted 2.2 Rom

3. Boot into Recovery

4. Flash above ROM

5. ???

6. Profit

OK so now the aio v4 came out and i wanted to flash it.

but clockwork keeps on saying that it cant find the file.

it worked before i dont know what is the problem now.

It might be this...

The new v4 zip file is not called 'update' like v3 was, so you can't use the menu item in Clockwork which uses that filename (unless you rename the file on your sd card). Instead select the menu item in Clockwork called 'install file from sd' (or something like that) and manually select the CM zip file you have just copied on to your SD card from the list.

it should let you choose the zip you want to flash

so lets start from the beginning

1. boot into clockwork

2. go down to install zip from sd card

3. once your in that go down to choose zip from sd card

4. go to where the zip is saved

5. click yes and it will flash
