I want to install Froyo. I do not use the radio etc so it's fine if that doesn't work but wi-fi/gps/internet browser etc would be good working. Anyone reccomend the most stable ROM to use? With no lag etc. Thanks!

FLB's 2.2 Rom

I'm not sure about that. Paul's Alpha 4 is working brilliantly. GPS works great (not Yorskhire) at start. Has this been fixed in FLB's ROM?

I was using FLB's ROM at first but moved on to Paul's Alpha 4 because the Chinese leak seemed closer to a stable release ROM.

Also, I had 1 screen with the FLB ROM and I've been running Paul's Alpha 4 since with it was Alpha 1 and I haven't had a freeze yet. Having said that, users of both ROMs have been reporting screen freezes.

but as Modaco Alpha 4 2.2 is only available for Ad Free and Premium Members, FLB 2.2 is a good choice compared to Alpha 3 prebake for Poster Members

Additionally:

If you have a TFT SF you can't use FLB's rom anyways.

But whats funny it works on my Swiss San Francisco, just flashed it now. And they say its a TFT .... it has 512 mb ram an 3.2 MPX without flash so i think its TFT and not OLED ....

Fibblesan 2.2: GPS works for me, Wi-fi tethering doesn't

Paul's Alpha3: GPS doesn't work for me, Wi-fi tethering works a treat.

I'm using Paul's Alpha4 and I'm really happy with it.

I've tried pretty much every FroYo ROM available so far, and this is the best yet IMHO.

If the OP can stretch his finances to buying an AdFree subscription, it's well worth it.

If you have an AdFree account on here, you can use the ROM kitchen in the second post of this topic.

Does GPS definately work in Paul's ALPHA 4 ROM?

I am running ALPHA 3 Prebake and the lack of GPS is annoying.

Mine does. Sat in car park last night, turned maps on, locked instantly to my location. Wasn't a cached location, never used GPS in that location before.

Takes a little longer when in the house.

Yes, both coarse and GPS locations work. From memory I thought GPS was working in Alpha 3 too, but course wasn't? So it thought you were in yorkshire or something for the first 2-3 minutes?

Pauls A4 is definitely the best froyo i've used so far, i don't even get any screen freezes (well, not yet anyway) been running it since it first became available, and have nandroided it to try other roms as they come out, but always end up back on it when they eventually disappoint.

I always tend to bake lite, so weather the screen freezes are associated with an app I don't use or not I have no idea, having said that, I'm running a gingerbread theme, launcher and keyboard on it so it's far from stock.

So, get yer dosh out and become a member, and download :)
