Guest Afrodude Posted December 13, 2010 Report Posted December 13, 2010 The only thing that is safe to assume is that the CPW are a bunch of cowboys without a clue of whats going on.
Guest That-Guy Posted December 13, 2010 Report Posted December 13, 2010 Someone needs to pop into a store to double check me thinks :)
Guest Maringer Posted December 13, 2010 Report Posted December 13, 2010 I ordered from CPW last week via the internet. The order was confirmed but not processed so I contacted them a couple of days later to be told that the phone was out of stock for a couple of weeks. They agreed to cancel the order on my request but then have faffed around ridiculously about processing a refund to my credit card. Had another call about it today (from somewhere on the Indian subcontinent) and they claim they have now finally processed a refund - which will appear on the account in 7 or 8 days! Taking the piss, if you ask me, but I've already informed my card company about them messing me around and if I don't get the refund soon I'll ask them to cancel the transaction altogether. Basically, the phone helpline bods who work for the CPW seem to be based somewhere in India with computer systems which don't work correctly and a lack of knowledge of the necessary procedures to follow. Pretty dismal, all in all.
Guest HMZX Posted December 14, 2010 Report Posted December 14, 2010 if they advertise oled and its not, you can get a refund so just in case...
Guest cgk Posted December 14, 2010 Report Posted December 14, 2010 Yep, you can simply take it back as "not specified" and that's that.

Guest slitz Posted December 15, 2010 Report Posted December 15, 2010 Bah, I just bought this phone, rooted it and installed a custom rom. And now I find out I could've bought an AMOLED version of it?! Well, does anyone know how these two screens compare when they're outside?

You wont really notice a difference between the two, the TFT/LCD just has a few random lockups on most roms, Differences: Amoled: true black / TFT/LCD: Backlight Amoled: pink whites & greys / TFT/LCD: real whites & greys ¦lowest brightness setting¦ Amoled: slightly more vibrant You wont even notice these unless your holding both versions of the phone anyway :) Note: Amoled does have a slight (non-noticable) glow to black under extreme dark conditions Edited December 15, 2010 by SWOriginal
Guest slitz Posted December 15, 2010 Report Posted December 15, 2010 Yeah, I used to have an AMOLED device before. I had to turn up the brightness a lot on that device in order to stop the pink coming. So one question, does TFT have better battery life for white images? I read that Super AMOLED is bad for white images, so web browsing is going to be a major battery killer and that text was very blurry on it (I had an AMOLED MP3 player so I didn't use it to read much). But I'm not sure, an AMOLED version of this phone is rare..
Guest Ricey155 Posted December 15, 2010 Report Posted December 15, 2010 i went into CPW on saturday and they told me its an orange product only even tho there website says they have stock or sell them
