Anyone taken a SF apart?

I'm wondering what is under the plastic tape here:

According to the manual, this is where the aerial is found. If you take the back off your SF, there's some black electrical tape sort of stuff and underneath it is some metal (which you can see the outline of through the tape).

Anyone know what it is? Is the aerial the wiring underneath?

The reason I ask is because I'm having trouble with call quality (as per my thread here) and whilst taking the back off I may have broken the cabling underneath the tape....

Will be making my 3rd call to Orange tomorrow to get them to replace it. Guy I phoned earlier said he'd call back but never did! Why oh why did Orange have to be the network to supply this phone.... their customer service is dire :)
