ZTE Blade MMC Very Slow?

Hi all,

My ZTE blade is very slow at certain points, particularly when using the gallery app - loading thumbnails takes minutes, not seconds. Does anyone know if the memory cards handed out with these phones are particularly slow please?

vary one guy here gets 900k i get 15 megabytes (a second) are you using 2.1 btw

Yes, completely stock. I notice some apps like backup that came with the phone are running in the background - I think there was a thread somewhere on which of these can safely be removed.
