Cut your own Perfect Fit screen protector

I was looking for a screen protector for my SanF, but could not find a decent shape. Almost all I tried fell short. They were good enough to cover the central screen space, but I was desperate to cover the full screen!!! That was when I started this project.

Basically I scanned my SanF, cutout the screen part, resized and printed it a couple of times for perfect size calibration, and there, final blueprint was ready. Now basically, anyone who is looking for a full screen protection can use it. Here is what you have to do:

  1. Order a BIG enough screen protector. I used HD2 Anti-Glare.
  2. Printout the Blueprint on an A4 paper and cut it out. Countercheck the cutout by measuring it against the screen.
  3. OPTION 1: Stick the cutout on the screenguard shape the protector in cutout's shape using a scissor.
  4. OPTION 2: Stick the cutout on a cardboard sheet and cut the cardboard sheet as cutout's size. Then place the cardboard on screen protector and shape the protector using a blade.

Voila! Now I have a perfect fit screen guard for my SanF, images coming soon :)

Was thinking doing the same, however including the whole front area, with SF logo and all black space around the screen as well. Will see if I can get it scanned and will post scans as well then.

For the love of god don't cut your own screen protectors.

You get 6 of these in a pack with a little cloth too.

Samsung i900, they fit perfectly.

Stop this silliness.

Thanks for the tip, will give them a go. Wasn't aware that they fit =]

Edit: Also, found this:

I doubt it is made for blade, probably just some that fits it, but decided to order it instead.

Good spot, never seen those ones. I assumed no-one was making San Fran specific accessories.

I like how they have the subtle colour scheme of Orange which makes you think it is official!

I find the i900 fits fine but obviously a specific SF one will do the job!

Lol I commend your DIY abilities but it seems a bit too much effort for something cheap and readily available.

I think you wouldn't get good edges by cutting it yourself and the bit around the ear-speaker will be tricky...

If you want I can post them to Franco? Surprised you can't find anyone that ships directly... Maybe contact the seller?

Yes you're right it is a little tricky and thanks for the links, I was not aware of them :) I'll see if the seller can ship worldwide...

I got some iphone 3/4 and galaxy 9000 protectors from

http://www.stealthguards.com/

for me the protectors are really good. also price is well (2-3$) the material is easy enough to apply without dust and bubbles. have to do it wet and takes a few minutes. first looks ugly but after a day or two theses are very transparent.

protection is very well. got a scalpell to cut them because the material is very hard to destroy.

will cut some of the iphone and unused back protectors to fit mine and my friends SFs. got actuall 4 SFs from switzerland and more to come. :)

hint: do it in bathroom after a shower. then there is less dust in the air. clean the display and make the protectors overall wet. (there is a video on the website how to do it). after a few trys its really easy.

the protectors satisfied me totaly.

anyway, thanks for the template, i will try it .

fo rthose who have that ebay SF specific screen protector; how does your finger slide over the film?

i've used some phones and they feel slightly sticky and dont let your finger glide as it does directly on the screen...

the seller i linked to ships worldwide for £0.70 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/6-x-screen-protector...=item3f05c38682

I bought this 6-pack too, its very cheap at this price, and the quality is very good, package even contains a little fiber-cloth to clean the screen thoroughly before applying the screen protector. I am very impressed, it was very easy to fit, and covers the whole front panel fully, just a very little space is left "open" above the earpiece speaker.

This is cheaper, looks like it covers more area and keeps clear of the sensor.
